The acetic who also was well versed in black magic fell in love with princess Ratnavati and wanted to marry her but seeing no chance he tried to cast a spell on the princess. To make the princess fall in love with him, one day he casted a spell on the bottle of perfume which was bought by princess’s maid for her. On knowing of the fact, Ratnavati threw the bottle which turned into the boulder and killed the acetic. Before he died, he cursed Ratnavati as well as the entire kingdom that everything will be crumbled into ruins. On the very next year, a battle was fought and the entire kingdom fell into pieces with not a single survivor.
There are many other Bhangarh stories as well that of Emperor Madhu Singh and Guru Bala Nath and few more. Nonetheless, all these stories culminate into the fact that nothing in the place could be built, if tried it mysteriously collapses and this is the reason the place seems abandoned and into ruins. Owing to these facts the entry to Bhangarh is restricted between sunset and sunrise by the Archeological Survey of India and is legally prohibited.
