Food, Festivals And Light In Netherlands Eye All countries celebrate festivals with a lot of happiness and enjoy more. The multi-cultural society of Dutch make a genuine effort to reach out to every community possible by celebrating an array of festivals including :

• 1 January Nieuwjaarsduik: This Day celebrates all-over the world. There are over 60 locations in the Netherlands to take a fall, although diving into the North Sea is the most popular location with up to 10,000 people.

• Carnival: Number of Dutch cities host this festival. It is one of the Europe’s biggest and most lively carnivals. On this day people preparing costumes, materials and floats for the grand Carnival parade.

•National Restaurant Week: In april, this Dutch festival is celebrates for foodies, where people can dine in some of the top restaurants in the Netherlands for some discounts on food and drink. It’s important to book early as places fill up in advance.


•King’s Day: King’s Day, formerly Queen’s Day, is the annual Netherlands festival in honour of King Willem-Alexander, whose investiture took place on 13 April, 2013.

•Remembrance Day: This festival celebrates in every year in the Netherland. People dedicate silence of two minute on this day who died in World War II.

•Liberation Day: This festival comes after Remembrance Day in May. It is also know as Freedom Day.

•World Christmas Circus: Mainly this festival for children. Major celebration held on this great day. Regular vendors at these events plan much in advance to cater to a huge crowd and deliver quality food to them and offering affordable and locally sourced food. Hundreds of schools across the country that promote the significance of all these festivals of light. Vegetarian food is accepted and loved during the festivities. It’s a great promotion for vegetarianism and an opportunity to explore variety from different regions.
