Hi Readers We have a very busy time at the Royal Theatre this November and December, and we are delighted to announce our cracker line up of Christmas Party Events. This weekend sees the magical Clannad - and in the weeks ahead we are also looking forward to the international tenor superstar, Paul Potts and the very very funnyman Dara O’Briain. In December we have the exciting Imelda May and of course our fastest selling show ever, Hozier. Enjoy reading this month’s publication with information about many shows. 2014 is shaping up to be one hell of a busy year for Kitchen Hero Donal Skehan. He has not one but two RTE TV Series airing this year. ‘Rediscovering The Irish Kitchen’ aired in June and ‘Donals Irish Feast’ airs this Autumn. If that wasn’t enough Donal is also the lead presenter on Junior Materchef on BBC 1 and his Grandmas Boy TV Show debuts worldwide on the Fox International Network later this summer. Last year Donal was the first ever Irish chef to tour a ‘live’ cookery show around Ireland. He enjoyed himself so much he has decided to do it again!

Johnny McEvoy has always been highly acclaimed for his excellent shows and his concert at Royal Theatre on Sunday February 22nd 2015 is eagerly awaited by his legion of fans. This nostalgiac evening of ‘Song and Story’ features all of Johnny’s many hit songs, including ‘Muirsin Durkan’, ‘Boston Burglar’, ‘Those Brown Eyes’ and ‘Long Long Before Your Time’. His songs are haunting, evocative and beautifully presented with many in the folk and ballad style. This is Johnny’s first concert in Mayo for many years. Not to be missed with one of Ireland’s legendary singer/songwriters.

The meteoric ‘rags to riches’ rise to fame of Paul Potts has astounded music fans worldwide. Paul stole the hearts of Ireland and the United Kingdom during the Britain’s Got Talent final, with a performance of Puccini’s Nessun Dorma. The tenor, who used to manage a phonestore in Bridgend, South Wales, released his album ‘One Chance’ after the show and it soared to number one in thirteen countries. In recognition of Pott’s amazing journey to success, his life story has been turned in to a movie, also titled ‘One Chance’, where award-winning comedian James Corden plays Paul.

Having performed worldwide at the Montreal, Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals and becoming a regular fixture on the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Calendar, Andrew Stanley is one of the top comics working the Irish Circuit today. Andrew also travelled to the Edinburgh Fringe where he teamed up with Australian comic Damian Clark in a show entitled ‘I Dare Ya’, which was then turned into a highly successful TV show on RTE2.

............................................... Conal brings his own hilarious comedy show of non-stop comedy to the Royal Theatre. Conal’s main aim is to get as many jokes into the show as possible indeed, there are times when he is telling two or three jokes at the same time, a feat not easily done! One of the delights of attending a Conal Gallen show is the fact that not only does the audience not know what he is going to do next, neither does he! It is this spontaneity that makes him the world-class entertainer that he is today. Conal is one of Ireland’s comedy success stories, with his album Live and Full of It going double platinum, only one of two Irish comedians to achieve this.
Conal has released 28 albums and six DVDs to date. His self-penned song ’Horse It Into Ya, Cynthia’, is a record holder on BBC Radio Ulster as the most requested song they have ever had – in addition the song has become a ring tone on tens of thousands of mobile phones across Ireland and a dance mix version has been recorded and released for his younger audience members.

Christy will be joined by a band of four musicians with whom he has been tentatively arranging his songs with; Máirtín O’Connor (accordion), Cathal Hayden (fiddle/banjo), Seamie O’Dowd (guitar) and Jimi Higgins (percussion). Anyone who has caught the band performing with Christy at select shows over the last year (including Live at the Marquee & The Iveagh Gardens) will testify what a special performance this is.
