Before jumping into my graduation project, I wrote my thesis about sustainable fashion and the circular economy. I wanted to use that as a primary research for the graduation collection, so I collected unwanted and flawed textiles from Hungarian brands and from my grandma’s closet. I cleaned, categorised and documented them first, then I took them into pieces and designed something new out of it.

During the first semester, I had to reconstruct and remake a designer piece while paying attention to the detail, the technology and the tailoring. I chose a symmetric dress from the SS17 collection of Rosetta Getty. The perfect balance between tailoring and details fascinated me. The dress has a long opening on the back which gives an extravagant feature. Since this garment was a minimal-shaped, long dress I dived into exploring the possibile opening variations and unusual silhouettes. Later I expanded my investigation over accessories and create my own hair accessory.

This collection was visually inspired by the work of Julien Blank. The project is called Blank city and includes two final pieces and numerous swatch samples. The assignment was to create two garments without narrowing and broadening the material on a fixed needle bed. Formally, I deconstructed the initial shape and tried to rebuild with geometric units. I played with density, colors, patterns and different knit techniques in order to reach my goal.

During this course at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology our task was to design a customised item for ourselves. I decided to make comfortable, A-shape loose wool coat because I did not expected to be cold in Australia. The double front pockets are made of the same denim, as the bag designed to it. It was a great opportunity to research, experiment and design for actual consumer needs.

The aim of this Knitwear Project was to explore several tubular knitting techniques on different knitting machines, while creating a collection. In the beginning, I explored a variety of possibilities by translating my research images into knitted samples. Based on my research, I constructed and experimented with a wide variety of tubular techniques, considering shape and form, proportion, volume and weight. During my design process I used the same garment width, and incorporated interesting structures to find the right fit for the human body. I played with scales, tension, fineness and the quality of the yarns.

The aim of this project is to experience the Reflective Design Thinking process. First of all, I reconstructed an existing Claire McCardell swimdress from 1954. Then, inspired by its proportions, material and design elements, I re-designed a new garment with additional alterations. When it came to design and pattern-making, it was my first priority to utilise the skills, I learned during the reconstruction process. Design choices in terms of material and construction are based on prior draping experiments and observations.

The goal of this project is to combine Knitwear and Apparel design into a single collection. The silhouettes of the clothes are inspired by Harajuku, the Japanese street style. It is a colorful and playful style with brave details and structures, which I found really interesting. All prints are based on my previous fair isle-inspired machine knitted collection. I played digitally with the size of the knitted stiches, ratio and rotation. Later, I experimented with sublimation print techniques on interesting surfaces, such as polar, net and softshell. During the knitting process I experimented with several knitting techniques on double bed knitting machines and created a kimono silhouette cardigan. Besides, I explored the possibilities of digital knitting and designed an oversized sweater with my fair isle inspired pattern.
