As the Philippines continues to face naturaleventsthatareworsenedby climate change, we must invest in improving our infrastructures throughsustainableconstruction.
One way to achieve this is through utilizing eco-friendly alternative buildingmaterials,suchasbamboo, which is abundant in our country and has been a significant part of the Philippine's culture and history. However, despite it's abundance, it is still underutilized in the field of constructioninthePhilippines.
The project’s name LIKHAWAYAN is a shortened version of “Likhang Kawayan” as this hub aims to celebrate and promote the creativity of local craftsmen in the bamboo industry and will include facilities for research, training, and tourism.

This building contains office and clinical spaces for doctors as wells as teaching facilities for medical practitioners. Going to a healthcare facility usually indicates thatsomeoneisillorisinpain.
Perforated aluminum curved panels on the facade to minimize the impact of direct sunlight and lessen solar gain while improving the appearance of the building with the form inspired by water waves.

As public healthcare becomes even more costly with the continuous advancement of medical technologies and practices, healthcare slowly becomes out of reach. Many modern hospitals prefer grandiosity of the design, overlooking the patient’s interests and comfort. This is a proposal for a cost-effective healthcare facility that does not take patients as a commodity and utilizes prefabricatedbuildingmaterialstolessenconstructioncosts.
