389. Astronauts Signed Stamp

Collection. Complete set of 20 international stamp sheets signed between 1968 and 1971 for German stamp dealer Hermann E. Sieger. The collection consists of commemorative postage stamps from around the world, each signed in various ink types by an Apollo or Mercury-era astronaut, including: Neil Armstrong, Stuart Roosa, Richard Gordon, Gene Cernan, Rusty Schweickart, Edgar Mitchell, Alan Bean, James Lovell, Scott Carpenter, Frank Borman, Wally Schirra, Don Eisele, Gordon Cooper, John Glenn, Walt Cunningham, Jack Swigert, Tom Stafford, Jim McDivitt, Charles Conrad, and Dave Scott. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Zarelli Space Authentication for the Conrad signed stamp, and by 11 of the original German-language biography cards. 390. Roger Chaffee Signed Photograph. Naval pilot and astronaut (1935-1967) who was one of three crew members to perish in the Apollo 1 command module fire on January 27, 1967. Rare official color glossy 8 x 10 red-numbered NASA photo (S-64-31447) of Chaffee in a handsome formal pose with pilot’s wings on his lapel, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “To Harold, best wishes, Roger B. Chaffee.” Reverse bears “A Kodak Paper” watermarks. In very good to fine condition, with several noticeable creases. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from Zarelli Space Authentication. Limited edition 19 x 29 lithograph of Neil Armstrong in his flight suit prior to the Apollo 11 mission, numbered 793/1000, signed in pencil by history’s first moonwalker. Also signed in pencil by the artist, Paul Calle, beneath his preprinted signature. In fine condition. Bold vintage felt tip signature, “Neil Armstrong, Apollo 11,” on an off-white 4.75 x 2.75 card, handsomely doublematted with a portrait to an overall size of 10.75 x 16.5.
