Scarce program for a 1959 Zurich chess tournament, signed by the 16-year-old Bobby Fischer as the world’s youngest grandmaster

Program. Rare program from the 150th Anniversary International Chess Tournament in Zurich, Switzerland, held from May 19–June 8, 1959, 6 x 9, 16 pages, signed inside in blue ballpoint by the 16 participants, including: Bobby Fischer, Gedeon Barcza, Hein Donner, Andreas Duckstein, Svetozar Gligoric, Paul Keres, Brent Larsen, Fridrik Ollafsson, Mikhail Tal, Wolfgang, Unzicker, Edwin Bhend, Max Blau, Dieter Keller, Josef Kupper, Erwin Nievergelt, and Edgar Walther. In fine condition.

For this tournament, ten foreign players—including eight grandmasters—were invited to Zurich to compete against six top Swiss players. Bobby Fischer, then just 16 years old and the youngest-ever grandmaster, came close to tying Mikhail Tal in the final. However, a loss to Swiss champion Dieter Keller in the penultimate round cost Fischer a spot at the top—he had to settle for a third-place tie with Paul Keres, behind Svetozar Gligoric and tournament champion Mikhail Tal. (Warner Brothers Studios, 1997) Original limited edition cel from the 1996 film Space Jam entitled ‘Tune Squad,’ 16 x 12, numbered 179/750, depicting Looney Tunes cartoon characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck huddling and poised for a team cheer with Michael Jordan, who has signed in the lower right corner in black felt tip. The cel is placed on a matching production background of Jordan and the arena crowd. Cloth-matted and framed to an overall size of 27.5 x 23.5. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Warner Bros. with an affixed Upper Deck label. Starting Bid $200

Official Riddell Authentic VSR-4 football helmet, with custom-designed “Super Bowl Winning Quarterback” decals to either side, both of which are signed in black felt tip by 29 of the 33 quarterbacks that have won the NFL Championship Game.

Signers include: Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Len Dawson, Trent Dilfer, John Elway, Brett Favre, Joe Flacco, Bob Griese, Brad Johnson, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Jim McMahon, Joe Montana, Earl Morrall, Joe Namath, Jim Plunkett, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Mark Rypien, Phil Simms, Ken Stabler, Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Joe Theismann, Kurt Warner, Doug Williams, and Steve Young. In fine condition, with small scuffs to Brady and Namath, and two authenticity labels affixed to helmet backside. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. The consignor notes that the helmet was specially produced in a limited issue.
