At this time, Earhart was preparing for her first solo flight across the Atlantic, which occurred the following year, and this telegram reveals her close oversight regarding the construction and engineering behind her planes. Earhart had a long-standing relationship with engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, partnering with them to popularize air mail as a faster national and international delivery service. Book. Signed book: Lindbergh of Minnesota: A Political Biography. First edition. NY: Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1973. Hardcover with dust jacket, 5.75 x 8.5, 363 pages. Signed on the title page by the famed aviator in black ink, “Charles A. Lindbergh,” and in blue ballpoint by the author, “Bruce L. Larson.” Additionally signed by his halfsister, Eva Lindbergh Christie Spaeth, with an additional presentation inscription by her on the first free end page, “With love to Louise R. Caldwell,” the aviator’s niece. On page 28, Louise adds a notation to the margin stating that she was named for “Grandmother Louisa.” In very good to fine condition, with light wear and a few small tears to the dust jacket, and slight foxing to signed page and textblock edges. 362. Wright Brothers: Wright Flyer Brochure (1911). Scarce brochure advertising the Wright Flyer, published by The Wright Co. of Dayton, Ohio, 1911, 10.25 x 7, four pages. An illustrated brochure that describes the various features of the Flyer Model B, Wright Motor, and Flyer Model R, and also lists the numerous records broken by the Wright Flyer in 1910. In fine condition, with a few edge nicks and creases to the paper wrappers. Accompanied by “The Wright Company” mailing envelope.
