(Walt Disney Studios, 1931) Rare original hand-painted black-and-white master production background from the Silly Symphonies short ‘Egyptian Melodies,’ featuring the opening of the tunnel into the Sphinx seen at the beginning of the cartoon. Accomplished in graphite, ink, and watercolor on untrimmed 12 x 9.5 heavyweight animation paper, complete with its peg holes and production numbers at the bottom. In fine condition.
