Why Congress Did Not Go with AAP in Delhi Congress should not have any kind of partnership with AAP led by a dishonest and incompetent politician like Kejriwal. After weeks of delay in taking decision about an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for Delhi Lok Sabha election, Congress decided to stay away from Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP which is one of the most corrupt political outfits in India.

Poster of Arvind Kejriwal. Photo: Rakesh Raman / RMN News Service The president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Sheila Dikshit, had been unofficially ruling out the possibility of a tie-up with AAP, but the final decision was taken on April 22 when Congress announced its candidates. She also has expressed the hope to win all 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. But even if Congress thinks it cannot win even a single seat in Delhi, it should not have any kind of partnership with AAP led by a dishonest and incompetent politician like Kejriwal. In fact, Delhi has become a virtual hell under Kejriwal’s rule. Most people believe that in 4 years, Kejriwal and AAP have caused such a damage to Delhi that now it will take it almost 40 years to recover from the ruins. Today, Delhi is among the most polluted and the dirtiest cities of the world and corruption is rampant in every street of Delhi while Kejriwal government never tried to control it.

While there are multiple complaints of corruption against AAP legislators, recently the party decided to defy the notice from Delhi’s anti-corruption body Lokayukta which has asked AAP MLAs to reveal the details of their assets. As bureaucratic and political corruption is rampant in Delhi, new reports suggest that the office of Delhi’s Lokayukta has received 41 complaints of corruption against the AAP legislators. The complaints are against the AAP MLAs as well as ministers. Similarly, the education standards – particularly in Delhi schools – are going from bad to worse while Kejriwal has no interest in improving the quality of education. Rather, Kejriwal and his party colleagues are making false claims about Delhi school education. Kejriwal and his liar friends hoodwink the people by equating quality of school education with the school buildings. Kejriwal and his colleagues claim that they have improved the education standards by constructing cement buildings and classrooms. While the quality of education is pathetic in schools, Kejriwal deceives the people of Delhi by saying that it is improving the education system in the city by constructing thousands of classrooms. Moreover, Kejriwal is going gaga over the hyped performance of his Mohalla Clinics. But most people in Delhi complain about the futility of such a flawed health care concept. As Delhi has clearly become a virtual hell under Kejriwal’s AAP government, the Congress decision not to hold Kejriwal’s hand in election may help the traditional party. The alliance with a corrupt party like AAP will also have jeopardized the Congress chances of winning the upcoming Assembly election in Delhi. The Lok Sabha election in Delhi will take place in the sixth phase on May 12.

For Your Information

Today, there is a dangerous nexus between capitalists and shady politicians who want to stay in power by hook or by crook. Together, they have reduced India to a level of criminalized kleptocracy, in which all the four pillars of democracy have collapsed. Now it is being observed that India has become a kakistocracy where the government is under the control of the worst, least qualified, and most unscrupulous people.

Modi Sends Fake Nuclear Threats to Pakistan to Cheat Indian Voters Since Modi is not a properly educated politician, he has completely failed as the PM of the country in all those areas which need intellectual competence. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi – who failed on all fronts during the past 5 years of his government – cannot ask people to vote for him on the basis of his performance. Now, he is trying to generate a fear psychosis among the Indian voters in order to seek their votes deceptively.

Narendra Modi. Photo: PIB (file photo) First, in February, Modi tried to leverage the terror attack on CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) men in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in which more than 40 Indian men died. Many believe that Modi government itself had conspired that attack to win public sympathy and thus electoral advantage. Now, Modi is spreading the fear of war with Pakistan in order to win public support in the ongoing Lok Sabha election, although there is no possibility of war with the neighboring nation. In an election rally on April 21, Modi said loosely without any provocation that India has the nuclear option to attack Pakistan. Since most Indian voters (estimated 95%) are uneducated, they can be influenced by the war hysteria that Modi spreads. Therefore, Modi exploits the voters’ sentiment with such inflammatory rhetoric. Modi knows that he and his party BJP cannot win the current election on the basis of their work during the past 5 years. So, he and his party members are pinning their hopes on

such mischievous gimmicks and electronic voting machines (EVMs) that they can tamper with to win the election. In an ongoing RMN Poll, only 18% people say they are satisfied with Modi’ work. While Modi has almost completed his term as PM of India, many believe that he has brought the country on the brink of disaster. In the past 5 years of Modi government, the country has suffered a major setback from which it will be almost impossible to recover. Education standards are deteriorating, joblessness has spread like a pandemic disease, corruption is at its peak, environment is damaged, and human rights violations are increasing under Modi’s rule. Since Modi is not a properly educated politician, he has completely failed as the PM of the country in all those areas which need intellectual competence. Now, he is trying to win election by mere sloganeering and false propaganda while the living conditions in India have gone from bad to worse under Modi’s rule.

Facing Defeat, Opposition Parties Blame EVMs, Says Modi Major opposition political parties in India have been repeatedly complaining about the vulnerability of EVMs. The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said in an election rally that the opposition parties have started blaming electronic voting machines (EVMs) because they are anticipating defeat in the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

EVM Frauds in India Modi said that EVMs are being cursed because his opponents have realized that people of India love Modi and it will not be possible to defeat him and his party BJP. So, he said, they have started finding faults with EVMs. "अपनी पराजय का ठ करा EVM पर फोड़ने क शु आत इ ह ने पहले से ह कर द है ।दे श क जनता जब अपने इस चौक दार को इतना ेम दे रह है , तो बेचार उस EVM मशीन को भी गाल खानी पड़ रह है ," Modi stated in his loose rhetoric which always lacks intellectual content. As it was expected, there are increasing number of reports that the EVMs are not working properly in the Lok Sabha election. Reports also suggest that the faulty EVMs are again voting for Modi’s BJP. Major opposition political parties in India have been repeatedly complaining about the vulnerability of EVMs. It is also being observed that when EVMs malfunction, they vote only in favor of PM Modi’s BJP which runs with Lotus election symbol.

Environmental Damage and Pollution in India Appeal to Global Community A new IQAir AirVisual report, which covered 3,000 cities of the world, has revealed that Gurugram (a.k.a. Gurgaon) a suburb of India’s capital New Delhi is the most polluted city of the world while 22 of the top 30 polluted cities are in India. Also, Delhi remains the most polluted capital across the world. As pollution levels remain dangerously high throughout the year in India, all travelers including business executives, tourists, and diplomats need to exercise utmost caution while planning to visit India – particularly India’s capital New Delhi. Moreover, companies and investors must not come to Delhi for setting up their businesses or for trade conferences as pollution can harm them as well as their families. Foreigners who have come to stay in India for their work, should preferably go back to their countries. Or, at least, they should not keep their children with them because Delhi’s pollution is very harmful for children. Delhi Government, the Indian Government, and the pollution-control agencies are not taking proper steps to control pollution because most politicians and bureaucrats in India are corrupt, uneducated, and careless. The extreme pollution in Delhi is being compared to the poisonous gas chambers used by Nazi Germany during the Holocaust for the genocide of millions of European Jews. As pollution in Delhi / India is harmful to millions of Indians as well as people in other parts of the world with its impact on global warming and climate change, its lethal effect is equivalent to weapons of mass destruction. The Indian government - including bureaucrats and politicians - is causing serious environmental damage which is harmful for the entire planet. Therefore, the global community including the UN and the U.S. Department of State and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) must impose strict economic, diplomatic, and trade sanctions on India and Indian officials. Is India Ready to Embrace Social Democracy? Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) have successfully used social democracy to achieve socio-economic development. Although most political ideologies in India are directionless, their underlying objective is to achieve true independence for India by ensuring equality for all. However, even after 70 years of India’s independence, there is a yawning rich-poor divide while a handful of people control a large part of country’s wealth. As a result, rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer.

Voters waiting at a polling booth in India. Photo: PIB Obviously, there are some serious flaws in the political paradigm that India follows. While a refined form of socialism – or social democracy - is the answer to India’s growing ills, the country of 1.3 billion people is buried under the cruelest form of capitalism. Russian communist revolutionary Lenin believed that socialism is an integral part of democracy. Lenin had preached the idea of social democracy in 1905. Social democracy is a political concept that promotes the existence of a welfare state within the framework of a capitalist economy like India. Most communists believe that social democracy, which is an evolutionary political process to achieve socialism, can help build an egalitarian society. However, many political pundits fail to put the concept of social democracy into perspective. They fail to express that there is a distinct disagreement between the concept REAL VOTER News Magazine on Politics in India

of social democracy introduced by Lenin and the socio-economic model (often termed as orthodox Marxism) proposed by the German philosopher Karl Marx. Social Democracy and Class Struggle Although the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) have successfully used social democracy to achieve socio-economic development, it is extremely difficult to deploy this model in capitalist economies such as India and the USA that preach but do not practice democracy. These so-called democracies are almost ruined by the perpetual class struggles between the ownership class (bourgeois) and the labouring class (proletariat). In the USA, for example, common people have realized that the current democracy that serves only a handful of affluent Americans is soon going to ring the death knell for people at large who are already facing joblessness, poverty, and starvation. In the ongoing presidential race in the U.S., a self-styled socialist candidate Bernie Sanders is pointing out flaws in the American democracy while promoting social democracy. Sanders – who sounds like the reincarnation of the 19th-century revolutionary socialist Karl Marx – talks about the widening rich-poor divide in America and the deformed democracy in the country that has become a plutocracy or perhaps kleptocracy (the rule by thieves) driven by the greed of top 1% of the corporate bigwigs. Sanders also expressed his theory of social democracy in the 2016 presidential race. After initial euphoria, Sanders’ campaign lost steam, as another Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with largely capitalist views surged ahead in the race to win presidential nomination. And finally a rich man Donald Trump - who aggressively promotes laissez-faire, capitalist economy - won the election. This is a lesson for those who promote socialism. They must understand that the ownership class (bourgeois) still dominates and socialism has failed to go beyond its status of a mere buzzword. By the way, socialism was the most popular word of the year 2015. While socialism cannot be a quick-fix solution to all the social and economic problems in a country, the word’s linguistic popularity suggests that people are, at least, considering socialism as an alternative political system in democracies that have become plutocracies. Case in point: India. Politicians can still promote socialism or social democracy in India. But they will succeed only if their arguments are loaded with plenty of content and knowledge to support their views. Otherwise, like it has been happening in India, irrelevant politicians will come and go. The only thing that will stay with the common Indians is slavery that they have been experiencing even in independent India.
