A m e d i c a l f a c u l t y f o r IC i s recommended i n t h e R e p o r t o f t h e R o y a l Commission on M e d i c a l E d u c a t i o n p u b l i shed t h i s month. The R e p o r t recommends t h a t the number o f L o n d o n M e d i c a l Schools Barts h o u l d be h a l v e d by merging S t , holomewfe w i t h L o n d o n , U n i v e r s i t y College w i t h the Royal F r e e , Middlesex with St, Mary's, Guy's with King's C o l l e g e , Westminster with Charing Cross and S t . George's w i t h S t , Thomas's. Each of these should have an i n t a k e o f a b o u t 200 students per year a n d a r o u n d 1000 t o t a l , and each should become t h e m e d i c a l f a c u l t y o f a L o n don college. If these recommendations are c a r r i e d out the W e s t m i n s t e r - C h a r i n g C r o s s c o m b i n a t i o n w o u l d become the medical faculty of I . C . The Charing C r o s s H o s p i t a l at present has plans t o r e b u i l d i n J u l h a m and has recom mendation f o r an intake of 70-80 students per year. I returned from backstage to f i n d f l o w e r s b e i n g l a i d on the stage, by J e n n i f e r J u n i p e r amongst o t h e r s . A few m i n u t e s l a t e r J o h n P e e l was i n t r o d u c i n g the m u s i c i a n s , a n d t h e n Dono van.
