Breast self examination should be done once a month 2 or 3 days after your mm period. It really is as easy as 1.2,3... 1. In the shower... raise one arm and with the other hand carefully examine your breast in a circular pattern. Press firmly enough to feel any lumps or hard knots. 2. In front of a mirror... check for any visible signs of change by raising and lowering your arms above your head. 3. Lying down... with a pillow under one shoulder, raise your arm and examine your breast as in step 1. Report any changes to your doctor.

Spooky
Now Spooky have been around for quite a while. Their moment of glory came when they released Little Bullet, the ALBUM velocity rnix of which was PSIFflSmtllilll U a i SJCIIII.ll f i l l championed by Sasha and the like and included on the first Renaissance compilation (there are two dodgy- Ifyou're versions of the track on the album, origthinking of me inally named parts one & two, neither of A mellow chilled which sound anything like the above out track from mentioned mix!). e die hard You can tell that this album was origifestival goers. nally released back when Progressive orphic soop- House was the name of the game. Although the album still sounds good groove dictation (and I urge anybody with a vague Basically a Jlmi curiosity in dance music to go and buy Hendrix riff. it, partly as a slice of history, partly Stay away. because as a re-release ifs less than a tenner and mostly because it is SnW absolutely brilliant), there are moments 1069/B when it is obvious quite how far your average four/four tune has come since then. For your money you get Wi§§ Sunscream-esque keyboard stabs and riffs, glorious, almost wailing vocals, strange squelchy sounds and beautiful (but short) intros to most of the songs.
Put the album on, skip to track four, lie back, spark up a cigarette and listen to the glorious moment that is the first part of little Bullef. This magical beginning should have been used to open the album. The sounds just flow around your head for few seconds, and then a snare comes in on the beat. Then the kick drum comes and the bass line tries to persuade your feet to get up and dance, but the overall beauty is such that you have to just lie back and soak up the sounds. None of the tracks on the album have major vocal contributions, although Spooky use a female voice to great effect almost as an instrument on 'Schoom', placing a soaring vocal over the top of a keyboard line which will stick in your head for days. The rest of the tracks are all great and they have even done the semi-obligatory "Lefs forget to turn the drum machine on" track with great aplomb (and given it a great title - 'Orange Coloured Liquid'!). I would have given this full marks if they'd included the remix of little Bullef As it is this remarkable album gets a remarkable (9). Simon Young
Stephen Jones is a strange one indeed. His band have taken over
Gorgeous' and 'Good Nighf made appearances, but it was during the new album tracks that he really shone as 'Cornershop' transformed itself from an mildly diverting ditty to rousing crowd pleaser, and 'Dead Bird Sings' might have induced tears in grown men if it weren't for the aping around on stage. And there lies the problem that people have with BabyBird - you really desperately want them to like you, and be on your side, but instead they write beautiful songs and then laugh at you for liking them. And to be honest, they have every right to. This was a great performance from a great band, and the backlash is pushed aside with a half-cocked grin and a bottle of gin. Brilliant... Mr Trout
