COTS JOURNAL 2009 MEDIA KIT

COTS JOURNAL PROVIDES DIRECTION FOR THE KEY PLAYERS IN THE MILITARY AND AEROSPACE MARKETS WITH COVERAGE OF INDUSTRY NEWS, MARKET TRENDS, NEW PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS.

In Brief COTS Journal is the only publication serving the technical needs of those designing embedded computers into military and aerospace applications. Engineers and other technology decision makers working for the prime contractors and armed services consider COTS Journal as the premier technical publication disseminating information on electronic and computer products and technology to engineers working in the military and aerospace markets. That’s why advertisers use COTS Journal as “the” primary tool in support of marketing targeting those engineers and engineering managers at the design level.

COTS JOURNAL 2009 MEDIA KIT

COTS Journal’s editorial excellence has ranked it number one for each of its ten year history. COTS Journal has always distinguished itself from other publications by offering insight and analysis in its editorial. It delves in how various technologies, system architectures and product choices are positioned versus one another, and in the context of military requirements.

Editorial Sections Special Feature

As its name implies, articles in this section blend in-depth examinations of a key embedded computer or electronics technology trend and put it in context with the requirements of today’s military system designs. This section is typically the cover story for the issue.

Tech Recon

Military system designers may use much of the same basic technologies— embedded form-factors, processor architectures, fabric technologies and so on—as their commercial counterparts, but the way they look at them is very different. This section helps readers sort out which technologies offer the critical mass, market longevity and physical attributes necessary for defense designs.

System Development

No military embedded system can function until its software development and testing phases are put through rigorous test and development cycles. Military applications put extreme demands on both. This section is devoted to covering trends in operating systems, ruggedized test and security assurance. Articles here focus on EMI/RFI, shock and vibration testing and mitigation, cooling, HALT/HASS and a host of other hardware and software test-related technologies.

Tech Focus

This magazine department highlights a narrowly focused technology area and takes an in-depth look at associated products and developments. This will include tried-and-true technologies like boards and displays, along with topics such as data acquisition and conduction-cooled graphics modules.

COTS View

This off-calendar magazine department allows the editors to provide detailed coverage of areas that do not necessarily fit into any of the predefined calendar article series. This can include significant new technology not considered when the editorial calendar was assembled. COTSJOURNALONLINE.COM

Success - Setting an objective and meeting it.

COTS JOURNAL CIRCULATION Through our events and publications, The RTC Group has accumulated a focused e-mail database of over 200,000 engineers and managers worldwide. More than 55,000 of those names come from within the embedded OEM mil/aero electronics industry, the target audience of COTS Journal. In order to serve your specific needs, we have the ability to narrow your target audience based on geographic and demographic surveys. The RTC Group takes particular pride in the development and maintenance of its circulation lists. Circulation has been culled from a variety of sources and continues to expand via attendees at relevant industry shows, The RTC Group’s extensive Web presence and marketing efforts, magazine subscriptions, and wordof-mouth. Inquire about bulk discounts and campaign packages.

INDUSTRY EVENT DISTRIBUTION COTS Journal, RTC magazine, Portable Design, PKG, EDA Tech Forum Journal, and in turn, you as an advertiser, benefit from exposure and distribution at numerous industry events. These publications travel to both national and international shows, tangibly presenting themselves to some of the industry’s biggest players, decision makers and consumers. The added value of event distribution extends beyond the growth of the magazine’s subscriber base, as both readers and contributors of highly specialized editorial are able to engage in face-to-face interaction. Oftentimes, The RTC Group is represented at major events by members of its sales and marketing teams, as well as the magazine editors themselves. The 2009 distribution calendar is subject to change, but COTS Journal is distributed at a varitey of military and technology orieneted shows such as MILCOM, AUSA, ESC, AFCEA West and I/ITSEC. Additionally, they are sent to approximately 30 RTECC shows worldwide, an event produced by The RTC Group. The magazines are also available at the EDA Tech Forum, which in 2008, featured seven North American sites as well as nine international locations. For more information, please ask a representative from The RTC Group. COTSJOURNALONLINE.COM
