NATIONAL PARKS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2013 (Legal Notice 59 of 2013) MADE by the Governor under section 8 of the National Parks Ordinance.
Citation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the National Parks (Amendment) Regulations 2013 and shall come into operation on publication.
Interpretation 2. In these Regulations “principal Regulations” means the National Parks Regulations.
Regulation 3 amended 3. Regulation 3(1) of the principal Regulations is amended— (a) in paragraph (d) by inserting after the word “substance”, the following words “,except where such removal is necessary to maintain traditional use and access to an established navigational channel, dock or marina”; and (b) inserting immediately after subregulation (6), the following new subregulation— “(7) For purposes of this regulation the following are established navigational channels, docks or marinas— (a) Beaches Jetty; (b) Club Med Jetty; (c) English Cut (Turtle Cove); (d) Fisheries Dock - South Caicos; (e) Government Dock - Grand Turk;
(f) Government Dock - South Caicos; (g) Leeward Channel; (h) Marriot site existing dock; (i) Regatta Village Dock - South Caicos; (j) South Creek - Grand Turk; (k) Town Dock – Grand Turk; and (l) West Caicos Marina.”.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM These Regulations amend the National Parks Regulations to make an exception to the removal of sand, rock, coral, coral-rag or any calcareous substance within a National Park for purposes of maintenance to an existing navigational channel, dock or marina. The amendment also lists the existing navigational channels, docks and marinas.
