79 THE GAZETTE MARCH 7, 2014 ________________________________________________________________________________ G.N. 121 PRESS RELEASE PUBLIC NOTICE To: All Vendors and Providers of Goods and Services to TCIG The Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) has initiated a “No Purchase Order, No Payment” policy, so as to improve internal controls over outstanding bills and ensure their timely clearance. As a result, all suppliers of goods and services to TCIG must not, under any circumstances, accept verbal or written orders from any official of TCIG unless you are provided with a signed copy of a valid TCIG Purchase Order. This phase of the Turks and Caicos Islands Government procurement policy will take effect 1st April 2014. As of 1st April 2014, all financial commitments for goods and services must be made using a valid purchase order. Vendors will also be expected to put the valid TCIG Purchase Order number on their invoice; to avoid processing and payment delays. Any transaction with TCIG that does not follow this procedure will not be processed and payment will not be made. In addition, as a part of the “No Purchase Order, No Payment” policy all providers of goods and services to TCIG will be required to re-register as a vendor with the TCIG using the new forms now available at the Accountant General’s Office. This registration process also requires that all providers of goods and services to TCIG must provide a valid business license with the registration form. These measures will be strictly observed and there will be no exception, therefore all vendors are encouraged to follow these new procedures.
