WHEREAS section 35(2)(b) of the Constitution provides that whenever a Minister is unable, by reason of illness or absence from the Islands or absent from his or her duties on leave, to perform the functions of his or her office, the Governor, acting in accordance with the advice of the Premier, may assign responsibility for the performance of the functions of that Minister to another Minister (including the Premier); NOW THEREFORE, I, Peter Beckingham, Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35(2)(b) of the Constitution and acting in accordance with the advice of the Premier, hereby authorise the Honourable Minister Porsha Stubbs-Smith, Minister of Health and Human Services, to perform the functions conferred on the Honourable Minister Akierra Missick, Minister of Education, Youth, Sports and Library Services, during the absence of Minister Missick from the Islands, with effect from January 18, 2014 until January 22, 2014. WHEREAS section 35(2)(b) of the Constitution provides that whenever a Minister is unable, by reason of illness or absence from the Islands or absent from his or her duties on leave, to perform the functions of his or her office, the Governor, acting in accordance with the advice of the Premier, may assign responsibility for the performance of the functions of that Minister to another Minister (including the Premier); NOW THEREFORE, I, Peter Beckingham, Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35(2)(b) of the Constitution and acting in accordance with the advice of the Premier, hereby authorise the Honourable Minister Charles Washington Misick, Minister of Finance, Investment and Trade, to perform the functions conferred on the Honourable Ricardo Don-Hue Gardiner, Minister of Border Control and Labour during the absence of Minister Gardiner from his duties on leave, with effect from December 25, 2013 until January 5, 2014.
