EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
This Bill seeks to amend the Stamp Duty Ordinance to discontinue the payment of stamp duty in instalments and the 10% discount offered to persons who paid stamp duty in full upon presentation of the instrument for stamping. The option to pay stamp duty in instalments and the 10% discount offered to persons who paid stamp duty in full were changes introduced by an amendment to the Ordinance in 2010.
