UBERLÂNDIA

Uberlândia is a municipality in the state of Minas Gerais. Its territory is 98% composed of the Cerrado biome and 2% of the Atlantic Forest biome and is located in a region known as “Triângulo Mineiro” (the Minas Gerais Triangle).

Triângulo Mineiro is one of the richest regions of the state, and its economy focuses on distribution. The main industries in the region operate in the food processing, wood, sugar and ethanol, tobacco and fertiliser industries.

Uberlândia is also home to Porto Seco do Cerrado, with infrastructure available to serve importers and exporters.

Minas Gerais is the sixth largest soy producing state in Brazil, with approximately 2 million hectares planted and a total production of 7.5 million tons. Most of this production is concentrated in the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Parnaíba regions. Of this production, almost 40,000 planted hectares have already been RTRS certified, for a total of over 150,000 tons of certified soy. In the state, facilities belonging to ADM, Cargill, CJ Selecta, General Mills and SAAG, Sociedade de Armazenamento e Agricultura Ltda., have RTRS Chain of Custody certification.
