“A lifelong passion for learning and education” Thank you for considering Tully School. I am very excited about working in an Educate Together school as I believe that schools should be an equal partnership between parents, children and teachers, which is a core value of Educate Together. I am really looking forward to the challenge of setting up a new school and working with the parents and local community of Cherrywood. I have been a deputy principal since 2012. In this role I was SEN co-ordinator as well as curriculum leader in maths. I have worked with the Parents’ Association and as member of the Board of Management, as well as mentoring NQTS. I have experience teaching at all different class levels, including in one of the schools’s ASD classes, which I played a leading role in setting up. I am excited to inspire a lifelong passion for learning and education in the Cherrywood community.

Inspired by the community that surrounds us At Tully, we are inspired by the community that surrounds us. That community includes not just the parents and children who attend our school, but everyone living in the area. We actively encourage parents and children of our school to participate in the community and invite the broader community to participate in our school. We embrace the input of parents, students, staff and the wider community to improve our school in every way possible. We are committed to enabling students to achieve their full potential. All students are encouraged to explore their full range of abilities and are provided with equal opportunities regardless of their gender. Educate Together schools put students at the heart of all policies and practices. All children have equal access to school and no one religion or worldview is given priority over another in Educate Together schools. We want Tully School to reflect the diverse and vibrant community of Cherrywood. 7
Nurturing the unique talents and interests of our pupils Our school motto is Inspired Education. To us, this motto reflects the organising principle of our school. We aim to inspire a love of education and learning in all of our students, and we are in turn inspired by the community of parents, students and the local community that allow us to bring this desire to life. As an Educate Togerther Affiliated National School, we believe in an inclusive and child-centred learning approach. All the students in our school have unique talents, interests and learning needs that we strive to fulfill. We will do everything we can to nurture and develop the unique and special talents of all our pupils. The beautiful surrounds of Tully Park where our school is situated are also an inspiration for us. We believe in the importance of nature for children, and believe that true growth and learning isn’t just to be found in textbooks. 9
Educate Together is unique in education Like many other schools in Ireland, Educate Together schools are statefunded and teach the National Curriculum. They are non-fee-paying schools and are open to students of all backgrounds. They are coeducational and have no school uniforms. But they are much more than that: Educate Together schools work hard to instil a sense of equality and justice in students. They embrace the input of parents, students, staff and the wider community to improve the school in every way possible. They are committed to enabling students to achieve their full potential. All students are encouraged to explore their full range of abilities and are provided with equal opportunities regardless of their identity. Educate Together schools put students at the heart of all policies and practices. All children have equal access to school and no one religion or worldview is given priority over another in Educate Together schools.
A national network of schools For over 40 years, Educate Together has been working to establish inspirational schools for children and young people in Ireland. The movement has its roots in the Dalkey School Project, a pioneering national school which was established in 1978. As a school patron, Educate Together operates a national network of 95 primary schools and 19 second-level schools in Ireland, catering to over 30,000 students. The growth in the Educate Together school network continues to be driven by parental demand and the Educate Together national office supports the rights of families to access the education they want for their children. 11
