VOLUNTEER WORK: Creator and founder, in 1989, of the Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and became its first president. • 1991 Started publishing a weekly Hispanic newsletter (“Que Pasa”) in Lee County which led me to start publishing in 1993 the first Hispanic weekly newspaper in Southwest Florida “La Semana”. • Ever since then I have served in many Boards such as the Southwest Florida Addiction Services Committee, the Lee County Private Industry Council (for 5 years), Lee County Children´s Home Advocacy Committee, Literacy Volunteers of Lee County, FEMA Board, Lee County Hispanic Affair Advisory Board and the State of Florida Community Service Block Grant Advisory Committee.
