WHAT IS A CAREER INTEREST CLUSTER? University Career Services uses a career development model focused on career interests. This allows students to break out of the confines of viewing career opportunities based solely on college majors and opens the door to a larger variety of options. Our Career Development Specialists are subject matter experts in each career interest cluster and can help students identify the skills necessary to pursue careers within that industry. Students within a cluster have the opportunity to engage in tailored programs and workshops, networking events and panels, job and internship opportunities within CareerKnight, career and internship fairs, employer site visits, and weekly announcements. Clusters include: • Arts & Entertainment • Business & Communication • Education, Public & Human Services • Food and Agriculture & Environmental and Natural Resources • Health, General Sciences, Technology, Engineering, & Math • Still Deciding (For students who have not selected a cluster, yet)
