A vacation built around coffee might seem peculiar to some, but to you that love Course Coffee and everything we are about, it comes to no surprise you are willing to join us on a 10 night tasting journey to some of the richest coffee culture in the world.

ARE YOU READY TO GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE WITH US.... IN ITALY?
Day 1 - Travel Day
We will depart together from STL and travel to Italy on an overnight flight. Resting on the flight will be helpful as we will hit the ground running in search of Italy's best cup of coffee, coffee traditions and brewing techniques to bring home with us.
PACKING TIPS
Packing light!
As will be taking many trains on our journey, the more compact and convenient your luggage arrangement the better.
Pack items that are multipurpose, and although it is winter, temperatures will likely only be 40F-50F and typically drizzly.
BRINGING HOME GOODIES
Don't worry on packing space, we will have plenty of opportunities to purchase a cheap additional bag to bring home items

Day 2 - Naples
A city that has been around for nearly 3000 years, an ancient spot that has a unique vibe and many distinctive and delicious traditions- especially when it comes to coffee!
We land a bit groggy eyed so a traditional and quality cup of coffee, in the most beautiful and historic locations will be a perfect first stop!' At the historic Gran Cafe Gambrinus
AFTERNOON
We will check into our rooms, freshen up and then head out for some adventure
DINNER: Umbertto, Umberto ristorante is a family owned restaurant satisfying the locals since 1916. Favorite dishes include eggplant parmigiana, meatballs, spaghetti with clams and fresh fish stew.

Day 3 - Naples
Campana Roastery
The third generation of the Campanas, on the coffee markets from the ‘30s, is now focusing its efforts toward the specialty coffee world. They offer both a classicdark roast (for the Naples’ traditional kind of blends) and a lighter roast for the single origins.
Historically for centuries, Neapolitans roasted their coffee at home or bought it from street carts, but in the 1960’s the Kimbo founders took advantage of new packaging techniques, specifically a vacuum packed canning process, to allow Neapolitan coffee to be taken anywhere and its popularity grew and their coffee became famous all over the world.
AFTERNOON AT POMPEII
We will journey to the fascinating yet haunting ancient site of Pompeii for the afternoon. An expert guide will greet us at the gate to lead us on a 2 hr journey around this massive site. We will then picnic after and explore a little longer on your own. 4 hour visit total.

PROGRESSIVE PIZZA DINNER:
Naples is also known as the pizza capital of Italy so it's only fitting we enjoy a progressive stroll for dinner along the Via dei Tribunali, Naples "Pizza Alley"

Day 4 - Florence
Private transfer to train station, early morning train

Tour & taste at the Accademia of Espresso, to learn about La Marzocco's rich history. The Guided tour tells the story of La Marzocco Coffee Machines. A family-run artisanal business that has become famous worldwide. Thanks to the genius and insight of Piero Bambi.

Day 5 - Bologna
Private transfer to train station, morning train 9am Direct - 45 min
If Italy had a stomach, it would be the city of Bologna! Here we will relax and take in all the tastes this city & region are famous for, including enjoying northern Italian coffee traditions. ...........................................
LATE MORNING
TOUR: Bologna has an ancient tradition linked to chocolate and coffee and we will enjoy a guided tour in the heart of the city of both!
AFTERNOON
You'll be free to explore Bologna, but tour is available of the Basilica di San Petronio which has some fascinating aspects you will enjoy!

Day 7 - Venice
8 am Departure via private transfer to train station.

HISTORIC EXPERIENCE
Cafe Florian
the oldest in Europe. Located under the arcades of the Procuratie Nuove, it was inaugurated in 1720 and is one of the lasting symbols of the city.
It’s where Casanova wooed the ladies and was Goldoni’s inspiration for his comedy The Coffee House. Sitting at the tables of Caffè Florian you can feel the atmosphere of the past and enjoy a high quality espresso with some traditional Zaletti cookies!

Day 8 - Trieste
9 am Departure via private transfer via water taxi to train station.
Direct Train- 3 5 hrs
We travel to the seaside city of Trieste to explore Europe's largest coffee port.
We start with a tour!

We will enjoy a special early dinner at ILLY featuring coffee (of course!)

Trieste is the Coffee Port Capital of all of Europe and Coffee in Trieste is a very distinctive experience with it's own unique coffee culture.
We will take a training session at the Bazzara Accademie. in the heart of Trieste, the facility is equipped with a tasting laboratory, classroom, roasting room, brewing room, coffee machines and latest generation professional equipment. A TOUR with Associazione Caffè Trieste
