DREAM ABODE 01

A dream residence, at a dream location, but yet realising the dream in the most radical way. Aim was to give justice to the context through orientation, and hence letting the spaces create themselves. Aim was to create spaces that give the peace and patience that is needed to calm yourselves down.

Project : Material Studio | Sem III

Location : Valvan Lake, Lonavala

Area : 250 sqm

Material : CSEB Blocks and Concrete

The design process started through taking Queues from the site terrain, and the lake-facing multi-directional slope of the land. Splitting the built into four parts, with different levels, opened up the vista towards the lake.

INCUBATION CENTER 02

A center for formal and informal Interactions that in-turn lead to intellectual research and explorations. Exploring the institution design through different parameters of user experience, which then enhanced the design through a very natural and contextual process.

The project works around the idea of an interactive promenade, which connects the major spaces, and hence becomes a node for the formal as well as informal discussions in the institute.

Following the slope of the land in both the directions, acheiving double height spaces through the slope which is moving down, and the natural street-promenade formation which happens through orienting the building in the direction of the contours.

CO-INTERACTIVE HOUSING 04

Overlapping of ideas and activities are true catalysers towards social housing, And thus interaction is a major aspect of healthy living.

Exploring the idea of overlapping planes, and social heirarchy, the project focused on prioritizing the open spaces even while going vertical because of land constraints.

Project : Housing Studio | Sem IV

Location : Afzal Khan No Tekro, Khadia, Ahmedabad

Area : 7000 sqm

22

Conceptual exploration of the idea of overlapping multi-purpose spaces and cluster formation through the conceptual idea. Creation of interactive nodes, and movement, pedestrain and vehicular were the major goals.

Section also explored the sense of balance between going vertical and maintaining open spaces. Natural terrace formation was achieved through sensible stacking of largest area units at the lowest level, medium in the middle and smallest at the topmost level.

24

30 sqm units, with overlooking balconies

45 sqm units, with a common open to sky balcony.

60 sqm units, at the ground level, favoring the larger families.

25

Staggering the grid with open spaces at different levels, lead to creation of a pedestrian street, and ceremonial spaces tangential to the street, thus giving pockets of open spaces to all the blocks.

26
0 5 10 15 20 25 50 M

Unit plans focused on providing semi-open overlooking, common and overlapping spaces. Following the same structural grid, but creating more voids as you move up, following the social heirarchy but in a different way.
