The various lenses enable you to perform and excel in any light or atmospheric condition you may encounter. RP Optics is a design philosophy that aims to improve visual performance and eye protection by means of selective lenses with high optical and mechanical performance, combined with the most advanced technologies and scientific applications. Our lens program has features common to every type of lens, such as neutralizing ultraviolet radiation completely up to 400 nm (UV 400 Protection), and maintains colors integrity even with the dark filters. We believe it is not enough to protect the eyes from hazardous radiation and external agents. It also important to enhance visual acuity and minimize distortion, while offering high quality optics suitable for sports. In some extreme conditions an athlete must rely on technologies to enhance performance and minimize distractions. For this reason, we have expanded the range of filters with specific treatments including antifog, hydrophobic, and photochromic technology.

Hi. My name is Haim. I live in Israel. I am veteran cyclist. I practice 4 to 5 times a week. Usualy road bikes. Also mtb bikes. Two weeks ago I had a terrible fall in my mtb practice. I felt on my left side right on the head. This is not the first time I fall but the the first time that I lost full concious. A group of soldiers found me along the path unconcious and ambulance rushed me to the hospital. The senior neurocirurgist said and I quote “the helmet saved your life”. Well... I use lots of Rudy products for years (sunglasses, helmets and so). What can I say, well done Rudy for making such great products which proove themselves when needed. Here is attachment of me after awakening and the helmet (Rush. I also use Windmax). Sunglasess were totaly broken (so no picture for that... a Magster). At Rudy Project our mission is to protect while elevating riders performance. Thanks to the constant feedback of professional athletes in both road and triathlon bike, countless hours at the Pininfarina wind tunnel driven by the renowned aerodynamic expert John Cobb, form factors and data analysis with experienced designers and engineers, we developed revolutionary helmets such as the Wingspan and the Wing57, leading us to virtually dominate the Lava Magazine helmet count at the Ironman World Championship Kailua-Kona Hawaii four years in a roll. Building on 30 years of experience in aerodynamics and innovative styling we are introducing today a new milestone in the aero segment, the Boost 01. 56

REMOVABLE OPTICAL SHIELD The fully integrated and removal shield will ensure maximized protection and enhanced aerodynamics while eliminating annoying glare and eye fatigue. Building on Rudy Project RP-Optics advanced polycarbonate technology, the visor combines cutting-edge coatings superior optical protection against harmful UV rays minimizing eye strain.

DORSAL RIDGE Inspired by sharks, the dorsal ridge helps converting sideways force into a forward force, like it was a long tailed helmet. It gives more surface only when it is necessary, as with a cross wind, while it remains small for less frontal area effect.

VENT COVER Aero helmets are equipped with a set of removable and modular front vent covers. One closed and the other in a mesh configuration, which will allow to manage the airflow inside the helmet. Riders will be able to control ventilation and aerodynamic efficiency according to the environmental conditions and maintain body’s efficiency. 57

VORTEX KILLER SYSTEM One of the major breakthroughs results from the scientific combination of the overall helmet design geometry and the two side vents; the purpose is to aid in the straightening of the airflow over the rear of the helmet. To help in managing these Vortex eddy low pressure points, which create drag and instability, air is directed, through a proprietary patented channel system, over the neck and shoulder areas at a different rate or volume than the oncoming free air: we call this invention Vortex Killer or Air Straightener System. This system adds significantly more ventilation inside the helmet: the Air director creates a high/low pressure area, on each side, so that air coming from the right vent goes to the opposite side of the Director and then flows out. And vice versa for the other side. Acceleration of air means more ventilation to help with sweat evaporation (rider cooling).

AERODYNAMICALLY ENGINEERED BY JOHN COBB

Designed with the aide of legendary aerodynamics guru John Cobb, the new Wing57 has undergone extensive wind tunnel testing to become the best TT helmet on the market. Through this testing, Rudy Project and Cobb developed a unique tail geometry that works best for all TT positions and back profiles. SUPERIOR VENTILATION New internal air channels and the all new top vent help guide the air and further accelerate the air flow out of the rear of the helmet. This gives a large increase in aiding heat transfer from the rider’s scalp, one of the major cooling zones of the human body.

AIRFRAME COMFORT PADDING The airframe frontal padding is crafted with innovative materials such as Dry Foam and X-Static antibacterial fabric: the former is a special white foam which does not absorb the sweat while the latter favours transpiration. The padding has been designed to minimize the sweating process inside the helmet: the foam does not absorb the sweat while the fabric easily transpires and dries, avoiding the release of unpleasant smells and ensuring the best level of performance.

UNIVERSAL DORSAL RIDGE

Using parts of the patented Vortex Killer System, there are new specific high radius lower edges along the bottom of the helmet. This links to the rear section which has new side scoops with specific NACA duct shaping, the Boost 01 is able to pull air around riders neck and off the shoulders for improved aerodynamics.

ZERO TORQUE

The refined dorsal ridge continues to help to convert sideways forces into a forward force. Thanks to the new lower and forward profile, it makes the Boost 01 to be more versatile in relation to the ever changing wind direction while almost eliminating the uncomfortable directional torque effect on the riders neck.

The directional torque is the natural reaction of a wing shape to self-align with the outside wind forces and it is the main cause of discomfort on riders neck especially over long distance races. The Boost 01 offers more than a 12% aero drag reduction compared to a traditional road helmet along with a 65% reduction in neck torque.

Keeping your head cool and dry is essential for maintaining performance at the highest levels. Thanks to the shape and the positioning of the external air openings and the unique air channels inside the cap, our helmets are perfectly ventilated and very comfortable. The air vents have been designed to permit maximum dispersion of heat, ensuring your performance does not drop as a result of the heat, and effective evaporation of sweat.

INTEGRATED AIRFRAME The integrated airframe frontal padding, using Dry Foam and X-Static antibacterial fabric, is engineered to minimize the sweating process inside the helmet: the foam does not absorb the sweat while the fabric quickly dries it, avoiding the release of unpleasant smells and ensuring the best level of performance. Falls can prove to be very costly and have permanent consequences. The starting point for the development of Rudy Projectâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s cycling and mountain bike helmets is the adoption of excellent quality materials which guarantee safety and reliability. This is why Rudy Project undertakes to use only highly-advanced materials which can absorb shocks and dissipate the mechanical energy without it being transferred to the head and body. The structure of our helmets combines expanded polystyrene (EPS), a material which can disperse the force caused by an impact through a plastic deformation and polycarbonate shell for increased durability and protection.

COMFORT INTERNAL PADDING One of the key quality element of Rudy Project helmet is its extraordinary head fit comfort. Most of our helmets are loaded with 2 interchangeable and washable paddings. Its design and position inside the shell has been scientifically studied to improve fit, ventilation and protection. 70

MIPS TECHNOLOGY AVAILABLE ON THESE MODELS: RACEMASTER RUSH

MIPS mimics the brain’s own protection system with a unique low-friction layer between the head and the helmet. MIPS is scientifically proven to reduce some of the energy from an angled impact.

Red = High Strain The graphic was generated using a finite element computer model based on measurements obtained from nine accelerometers in a Hybrid III crash test dummy head. The dummy head wearing a helmet was subjected to an angled impact using the MIPS test rig. The model illustrates strain in the brain from a similar angled impact when the dummy head is wearing a helmet without MIPS and a helmet with MIPS.

ADJUSTABLE CUSTOM FIT Rudy Project helmets are appreciated because of our legendary fit, the result of studies into ergonomics, design and material innovation and advanced manufacturing techniques. The retention system is constantly updated to improve stability and performance. The new RSR 9 system enhances the fitting: the structure is more wraparound while precise micro-metric regulation and height adjustment provide a perfect personal fit.

HEXOCRUSH TECHNOLOGY The HexoCrush is one of the most advanced Rudy Project solutions. Based on the Cone-Head technology, this revolutionary feature is designed to maximize athletes safety by ensuring unprecedented level of security. The liner is molded with two different foam densities and the hexagonshaped structure provides improved shock absorption by dissipating impact forces sideways and radially. The HexoCrush technology is incorporated within the Racemaster liner, which is lighter and guarantees lower g-force pressure than any other helmet in case of crashes.

When a shock occurs, the impact force is directed towards the head pushing the outer layer to compress. Simultaneously, the head presses in the opposite direction compressing the inner layer and the hexagons. In this way, energy is spread within the foam instead of towards the head and, thanks to the hexagons, the g-force pressure on the head is reduced.

WHAT IS POLAR 3FX? POLARIZED LENSES effectively block reflected glare, a situation which occurs primarily near water or snow or off reflective surfaces nearby, such as car windows, metallic objects, etc. Light which strikes a horizontal reflective surface is reflected back into your eyes. You then get a “double dose” of light energy, some of which falls directly on to you and some that is reflected on to you. OPTICAL DOCK The evolution of the Rudy Project solutions dedicated sports eyewear continues with corrective lenses, with a now even more complete and articulated product range that’s capable of meeting any technical and economic requirements. This is the pathway that led Rudy Project to develop the “Optical Dock”: a full-rim Grilamid clip, available for the Rydon and Stratofly models, that allows for ophthalmic lenses made from any type of unbreakable material to be inserted. The Optical Dock is a veritable platform that’s capable of ensuring the necessary lateral protection, while at the same time offering the possibility of mounting stock ophthalmic lenses thanks to the containment of the front wrap-around angle. And while the Rydon Optical Dock represents the ideal solution for even the most demanding sportsmen in terms of comfort and fit, the greatest new development is the version dedicated to the Stratofly version, the entry-level eyewear model from Rudy Project’s Technical Performance family. OPTICAL INSERTS Rudy Project has created RX inserts that can be snapped in behind the polycarbonate Rudy Project lenses. Thanks to our patented ‘easy-in easy-out’ system, our Clip-ons can be inserted or removed with ease. This is particularly useful when you want to wear your contact lenses or when cleaning. 1. When the template is not available, use the demo (or plano lens) as reference to cut the ophthalmic lenses. 2. The clip must be properly shaped according to the model of the glasses which should be applied before installation. Once set, you can determine fit parameters (PD and H), and deduct final considerations when mounting progressive lenses. 3. Before removing the clip to fit ophthalmic lenses, remember to take your references for the true horizontal axis. 4. The vertex distance is reduced when using an Optical RX insert: this should be taken into consideration before mounting ophthalmic lenses. 5. The winding angle of the RX Optical Insert may change according to the design and geometry of the eyewear on which it is mounted, and it is always much higher than the one found on a regular dress eyewear. This induces an horizontal prismatic deviation which will increase with the power of the lenses. Rudy Project recommends, as a general rule, to apply an horizontal shift of the lens in this way: +1.00 mm per eye in case of negative correction / -1.00 mm per eye in case of positive correction 6. If the value of the spherical lens is more than +/- 3:00 diopters and given the high wrap of the Rudy Project frames, it is necessary to make the due considerations on the required horizontal prismatic compensation and to the reduced vertex distance. 7. Before mounting ophthalmic lenses, it is always recommended to check the centering of the lenses on the clip once housed in the frame; do not mount any prescription on a clip without frame. 8. For the best result when mounting lenses on the clip, Rudy Project suggests to refer to the regular dress eyewear of the patient: in this way the adaptation to the new device will be faster and easier. 9. Rudy Project recommends the fitting of ophthalmic lenses with spherical geometry. For best results, consider to mount lenses with optical design specific for wraparound frames. 10. The RX Insert is not compatible with ImpactX® Polarized lenses.

HI-ALTITUDE LENS The HI-ALTITUDE lens is designed to protect your eyes from high illumination and dangerous UV rays; it transmits only 5,5% of light. Perfect for mountain activities, glacier and high altitude conditions, this special lens is tailored with triple anti-reflective coating layers and proprietary front Laser coating. For its exceptional light transmission level, these optics are not suitable for driving (Filter Category 4).

GOLF 100 LENS The Golf 100 lenses provide a unique balance of target and background brightness.
