ona Gillen was a small town girl with big dreams who got her start after co-founding LIV FILMS (LIVFILMS.COM), with Writer/Director, Jed Gillen, producing videos for the web. Starting out with no budget and a simple 20 second clip, starring Mona brushing her teeth in her underwear, it received a couple hundred thousand hits. From there the clips became more scripted and were consistently number one on METACAFE.COM before they made their transition to YOUTUBE.COM. Steadily making a name for themselves on the web, their videos are a must see for anyone who loves good content and comedic timing.

I was one of those people who couldn’t wait to get the hell outta there. (laughs)

5.What kind of mischief did you get into while growing up?

1.What’s your Ethnicity?

Let’s see... I’ve got an Irish Grandparent, a German Grandparent, a British Grandparent and everything else.

2.What’s your sign?

I’m a Virgo with Pisces moon. Which I only know because my dad is an www.RUKUSmag.com

astrologer. I don’t know anything about astrology, but he used to talk about it all the time.

3.Where are you from? Salinas, but grew up in Modesto, CA.

4.What did you like most about growing up in Modesto? Nothing! It was a pretty terrible place to grow up.

I ditched school a lot. Nothing too exciting. We would clean out the food in my friends refrigerator, mix it all up and dump it on our enemies car.

6.What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

I guess it would be just picking up and moving across the country to live in New York City with Jed, after only our second date! January 2009 • RUKUS

7.What brought you to LA? Wanting to get into acting. I had sorta taken a detour and I was in college studying biology and then I started doing theatre my senior year and I was like holy crap this is what I wanna be doing.

8.What’s your favorite hobby and why?

My hobby is sorta my job, you know, it sorta started out as a hobby. It still feels like a hobby.

9.What’s your guilty pleasure?

Probably eating, Going out at two in the morning to buy chocolate chips and coming home to make cookies.

10.Who do you admire?

Pamela Anderson. She doesn’t get a lot of respect obviously, but she’s a real genius at marketing herself and making a career out of what she has to offer. I really admire her activism, she’s totally involved in animal rights which is an important issue to me. She’s done more for animal rights than most other celebrities.

11.What’s one of your personal goals? Definitely, definitely, producing feature films. 12.What do guys compliment you on the most? It’s probably a tie between my eyes and my butt. Depends on the guy. Depends whether he’s honest or not.

13.What’s your favorite body part? Maybe my legs.

14.What’s your least favorite body part? I don’t like my feet.

15.What do you look for in a guy?

Well, I’m not looking anymore... (laughs) But, the most important quality in anybody is smarts, but they can’t feel like they always have to prove it. I hate people who are knowit-alls and constanly trying to impress you with how much they know. You gotta be smart, but you gotta let other people talk.

16.What’s the first thing you notice about a guy?

Height, because I’m so tall. (laughs) Most guys are shorter than me. I always notice if someone is taller than me.

17.What turns you on? Brains and a sense of humor.

18.What turns you off?

People who are stuck up or cocky.

19.What’s your biggest pet peeve? Bad drivers.

20.Who’s your celebrity pass?

Oh my god, I don’t have one. I never thought about it. RM

35 Years and Still Rockin’! AC/DC tops charts with CD sold solely through Walmart.

AC/DC has been delivering great albums for the past 35 years. Their latest release, BLACK ICE, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 40 Charts. The album starts off with classic AC/DC licks, riffs and lyrics then switches gears in the middle, trying their hand at some new material, though it doesn’t stray far from their roots, proving the old advage “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”! The album is nostalgic AC/DC, although not every song is a winner, there are at least 10 tracks that will make you want to put it in your car’s CD player, buckle up, sit back and hit the gas!
