PHOTO: AUSTIN RYDEHello and welcome to another exciting year with Miss Virginia Volunteer! Tonight we are here to cheer on this extraordinary and diverse group of young women and celebrate their backgrounds, talents, experiences, and abilities!
I am grateful and humbled to be the Executive Director of the Miss Virginia Volunteer program. I am so thankful for the many wonderful people who have come alongside me and for all the support and encouragement we've received from the community.
I feel so blessed for the opportunity to mentor these young women — from our precious Princesses to our blossoming Teens all the way to our show-stopping Misses — and my desire is to give insight to their abilities, to showcase their unique personalities, to raise awareness of their personal platforms, to teach them the importance of volunteerism, and to show them that crowns can lead to careers!
By providing scholarships and educational opportunities, my hope is that these talented and committed young women will use their status and experience to make a difference in their communities through their social platforms and personal and professional lives. I believe that each contestant can — and will —change the world!
Now, all eyes are on these incredible young women as they take the stage tonight, and I am so proud of them for so beautifully representing Virginia and all that we stand for. As we celebrate each outstanding moment tonight, let us all continue to share in the spirit of generosity, sisterhood, and community!
ALL MY LOVE,
More than a competition, Miss Virginia Volunteer is a community that provides connections, opportunities, and lasting impact for young women throughout our great state. Our mission is to educate and empower young women across Virginia through workshops, seminars, scholarships and opportunities, volunteerism, and events like the Miss Virginia Volunteer Pageant!
We believe strongly in our mission to help young woman become successful and confident in all aspects of life. By providing scholarships for excellence in education and cultivating responsibility, empowerment, growth and more, we offer these women the tools to go out and lead others to accomplish the same principles.
Miss Virginia Volunteer is a chapter of the nationwide, service-oriented scholarship program based in Tennessee that seeks to empower young women across the country through educational scholarships and extraordinary opportunities.

The Academy Center of the Arts is Greater Lynchburg’s go-to center for arts, culture, and entertainment. Our mission is to serve our community through year-round programming, children's camps, art classes, gallery events, pottery courses, and of course a calendar filled with exciting events at the newly renovated Academy Theatre!
To see our full calendar of events, please visit: AcademyCenter.org/Events
The Academy Center of the Arts campus, which encompasses several venues in downtown Lynchburg, is anchored by the Historic Academy of Music Theatre. Originally built in 1905, the Academy was the focal point for entertainment in Lynchburg from the time it opened well into the 1920s. The Academy fell into disrepair and was set to be demolished in the 1960s, until the Friends of the Academy of Music intervened. In 1969, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in hopes the designation would expedite restoration efforts. Eventually, with help from generous donors and the Lynchburg community, the theatre underwent major renovations and restoration efforts from 2015 until it reopened in December 2018 — more than 60 years after it shut its doors to the public. Updates to the 835-seat theatre include state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology, projection screens, and streaming capabilities — all while preserving the 1912-aesthetic that makes this venue a local favorite for theater, music, and quality entertainment!
I would like to thank The Miss Virginia Volunteer Pageant and Kate Clatterbuck for teaming up with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. With this amazing team we can teach our youth to be proud of their talents and choices that we make each day!

Last year, I had the honor of being crowned Miss Virginia Princess Volunteer 2023. I had no idea the friendships I would form, the opportunities I would have to impact my community, or the lessons I would learn because of this experience.
I was blessed with not one, but two Miss Virginia Volunteer sisters, Adrianna and Kate. They have been so kind, supportive, and encouraging. We had lots of fun together, and I’m so grateful for our friendship. Thank you for being such incredible women and positive role models. I will never forget you both.
As Miss Virginia Princess Volunteer, I was able to serve my community regularly in a variety of ways. My favorite service projects include: helping to pack Operation Christmas Child boxes, delivering cookies to the Bedford County Sheriff’s office, spreading Christmas cheer at Runk and Pratt, ushering at the Academy Center of the Arts, making cards for our Veterans, and hiding painted rocks for other children to find on We Serve Day.
My favorite memory this year would have to be cheering on Kate at the Miss Volunteer America pageant in Jackson, TN. This weeklong event is an experience I will never forget. I got to cheer on Kate all the way to the final round, enjoyed dancing on stage with the princesses representing all 50 states, attended paint and tea parties with new friends, and enjoyed lots of adventures with my mom, who is awesome!
This year I learned that no matter your age or size, you can make a lasting and positive impact on your community, if you just get involved. Whether it’s bringing a smile, drawing and painting pictures, writing cards, or just being there to support someone else, you can make a difference for the better.
Thank you to the entire Miss Virginia Volunteer Team, especially Mrs. Vicki Runk and Mrs. Elizabeth Ballard. You were always there to answer questions, give advice, and have been so supportive and encouraging. Thank you!
Finally, I’d like to thank my parents. Mom, thank you for encouraging me to participate in this pageant a year ago; for helping me prepare, taking me everywhere, and planning so many fun adventures together. Dad, thank you for always supporting me; for your hugs, bringing me flowers, and encouraging me.
To the 2024 Princess contestants: God has something planned for each of you. Take this opportunity to become aware of the impact you can have on your community. Let your light shine wherever life leads you.
