Another alternative to give your competitors if you are planning a series of 2, 3 or even more events, is a unique set of bespoke ‘segment’ medals. These will not only make a superb series memento, but can depict an overall design when put together.

Each event would have its own individual finisher’s medal, but by encouraging your competitors to enter all the events in the series with the incentive of collecting the complete set of ‘segment’ medals, it might help increase your overall entries.

The New Balance Big Relay is held on the same spectacular 13.1-mile course as The Big Half, which weaves from Tower Bridge in central London to the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, and is split into four legs of around 5K each. This means participants can soak up the atmosphere of the half marathon event without having to go the full distance! In 2021, the finishers’ medals were designed so that when all 4 relay segments were connected, the reverse of the medals displayed the events slogan “We Run As One”.
