Private sales. For when discretion is the better part of value. Not every super-prime property on the market is in the public eye. In fact, a large number of properties handled by the Knightsbridge & Belgravia team go on sale without advertising in the press or on websites (even ours). So if you’re looking to buy or sell and you don’t want the world to know about it, that’s fine by us. Simply call to register your details and we’ll keep you firmly in the picture, strictly on the QT.

Dear Resident, Did you know that February is the shortest month of the year because the Romans eighty-sixed it as they did not like winter? We sympathise with them but with the days finally becoming longer, we’re already looking forward to spring being in sight. However, without wishing time away, there’s still a lot to look forward to this month. Those who are looking for Valentine’s Day ideas should flick to Notebook (page 4) and our food feature on page 12. From roses that are sent through the post to hiring a chef to cook a meal for you at home, there’s plenty of inspiration. Or, if you fancy a night away, then why not check out our Great British Escape feature on page 28? That, along with our usual features such as the Belgravian, which this month features Motcomb Street dentist Dr Paul Gallop (page 6), food news (page 10) and interior ideas (page 23), means that February isn’t that bad after all…

SMILE AND THE WORLD WILL SMILE WITH YOU This is certainly Paul Gallop’s philosophy, as he tells the Journal Francesca Lee-Rogers
“s
ue Liberman warned me about you,” I joke to Paul Gallop, the man behind Motcomb Street’s longestserving dentists. He has already made about five rather crude yet funny offthe-cuff remarks in less than two minutes, which is impressive by anyone’s standards. In fact, if you’ve ever met Paul you’ll never forget him thanks to his quick wit, jokey and fun personality. He’s such a character and isn’t hard to spot in Belgravia – when he’s not in his surgery, he’s driving around on a motorbike with a visor that has a full set of teeth printed on it. However, after recently being knocked off his BMW motorbike outside of Harrods that ended up with £16,000 worth of damage, you’d think that this being his fourth motorbike accident he might have learnt his lesson, but not Paul. In fact, as I discover, nothing really fazes him, and as he tells me about the
artwork in his surgery that he’s storing as his third wife recently left him, I think it’s impressive that Paul surmounts soap opera-worthy dramas with his affable and endearing personality. This is certainly what makes clients warm to him and keeps them loyal since he set up the practice in 1988. Back then, there were very few private dental practices, so Paul worked for two years as an NHS dentist before going private. “My first wife and I, who is also a dentist, decided on Motcomb Street as we really liked the area,” Paul tells me. Prior to this, Paul, who completed his training at the Royal London Hospital in 1984, where he stayed on to work as a house officer in the Restorative Department, always knew he wanted to go private as “not only can you make more money but there’s more you can offer patients”. Always knowing he wanted to be a dentist as he likes chatting to
people and “even though the work is the same, the person lying in the chair is different”, Paul wouldn’t have it any other way. Those who work with him no doubt feel the same and his long-suffering nurse Sandra Huttly and and practice manager who has worked with him for more than 30 years, as well as hygienist Cindy Tuer who has worked for him for more than 20 years have both put up with his witty ways.
He drives around on a motorbike with a visor that has a full set of teeth printed on it It’s clear to see that Paul’s love of the area hasn’t wavered over the years. His regular haunts include The Fine Cheese Company that does “the best coffee”, The Thomas Cubbitt and Ottolenghi, while he shops locally
at Mayhew Newsagents as well as going to Harrods and Waitrose. “I always support Belgravia businesses, whether it’s buying hardware from Blakes of Belgravia on Kinnerton Street or getting my hair cut at Errol Douglas, it’s important to shop locally.” Outside of Belgravia, Paul cycles “to keep slim” and is very much a regular at Formula One races with Monaco and Monza among his favourites, as well as attending Silverstone. “I recently came back from watching Valentino Rossi,” he tells me. I laugh as I remark it’s a far cry from when he tells me he regularly walks his girlfriend’s chihuahua. But that’s Paul for you; a colourful character, but one of the area’s most loved dentists, and personalities for that matter. 3 Motcomb Street, SW1X 8JU, 020 7235 6531, motcombstreet dentist.co.uk 7

sage and sound Strategic art investment may seem a minefield, but one consultancy hopes to ease the process for those looking to invest around £50,000 or more – within the realms of Asian art at least. Art Futures Group launched in the UK at the beginning of the year, after setting up in Asia in 2011. The advisory works with more than 1,000 artists, but focuses on 44 contemporary Chinese creators whose sales have a good track record. It guides clients through investment, involving private views of potential purchases and three post-sale options: to keep for personal use; free storage; or a leasing scheme that rents the work for a six per cent return per annum. artfuturesgroup.com 8
q&a with Toshiyuki Inoko, founder of teamLab, the interdisciplinary collaborative group How do your immersive installations work? In some pieces, digital technology creates art by using programmed behavioural code. In others, the medium is transformative: the viewer’s movements cause the installation to react. What does Transcending Boundaries, your new exhibition at Pace London, refer to? Within the digital domain, art can transcend physical and conceptual boundaries. Digital technology allows art to break free from the frame. Elements can interact with and influence other works exhibited in the same space. In this way, boundaries dissolve. What themes does your work explore? The digital realm is free from physical constraints. Technology is a tool for change and a platform for expressing complex ideas. Viewers and the environment take on a crucial role in defining and changing interactive artworks. The viewer is an active participant and becomes part of the artwork. GRACE This February, give your health and wellbeing an overhaul with one of Grace Belgravia’s programmes francesca lee-rogers
W
hen it comes to looking after yourself, London’s leading health, wellbeing and lifestyle club for women, Grace Belgravia, is known as the go-to destination. They take a 360-degree approach to the mind, body and soul, offering you access to not only the best practitioners in their respective fields but also supporting and tailoring programmes to suit your lifestyle. Grace Cleanse Programmes The Journal met with one of Grace Belgravia’s health and wellness experts, Carolyne Ji who details how you can reap the benefits of detoxing with one of four programmes. From the one-day Cleanse Me to the threeday Pure Cleanse, five-day Power Cleanse to the Deep Detox that lasts ten-days, there are plenty to choose from. “At the beginning of a detox, there is a one-to-one consultation in order to discuss the client’s needs and what programme would suit them most. That way, we can find out exactly what they want to achieve from a cleanse and make it bespoke to them,” Carolyne says. As well as 18
having support from Grace Belgravia practioners, whether it’s nutritional or emotional, for example, clients on a cleansing regime all benefit from treatments at Grace Belgravia’s spa. “This is again selected specifically for the individual. Massages, acupuncture and hydrotherapy, for instance, all help to boost metabolism and circulation, and remove toxins from the body.” Other therapies such as colonics, supplements and vitamin infusions are also available as part of some of the cleansing programmes at Grace Belgravia. It is suggested by in-house experts to cleanse at least twice a year. “The seasons are very powerful to work with so I suggest spring and autumn for those who are thinking about starting their first cleanse,” Carolyne tells the Journal. But what is the maximum number of detoxes that one can do, I ask. “There really isn’t a limit – everyone detoxes for different reasons. They’re a powerful way to reset the body.” Another top tip
is pretoxing which prepares the body for a detox; this can include anything from starting to cut out certain foods to drinking more water, and means that the individual might not be as affected by as many symptoms once they start the actual cleanse. Carolyne is keen to point out that whichever cleanse programme or indeed method is chosen – for example, clients can mix and match between a raw food diet or juices – that the individual is guided and supported throughout the process. “I very much work as a holistic therapist. Detoxing is a transformational process and I am there to help clients and also teach them the benefits of detoxing.” Grace Weight Optimisation Programmes For the majority of us, time is of the essence, and quite often, there are simply not enough hours in the day. However, with ever-dominating work and life schedules, it’s essential that one takes the time out to focus on our health and wellbeing and with Grace’s
[FEATURE]
Weight Optimisation Programmes, there are plenty of options that can be realistically incorporated into a routine or schedule. The Total Ten is two weeks, the Grace Total Tone is four weeks and the Grace Total Transformation is eight weeks and all are tailored to suit your goals in order to achieve specific results. The packages have been created to improve strength and flexibility, increase cardiovascular fitness, lower body fat and accomplish a firmer, fitter and slimmer body for those who embark
They are tailored to suit the client’s goals in order to achieve specific results on them and ultimately, optimise your weight – there is no better place to achieve this in London. Jade Barkett, one of Grace Belgravia’s nutritionists says: “With the expertise of our practitioners, as well as access to Grace Belgravia facilities such as the gym, medical clinic, restaurant and spa, it’s a one-stop shop for good health and wellbeing.
“The programmes provide an experience that will inspire non-members and members alike to improve their overall wellbeing by providing deep healing and life-transforming skills to help physical and emotional balance.” Like the Grace Cleanse Programmes, all start with an indepth consultation whereby you go through your medical history so that the regime is tailored to you. All of the practitioners are then informed of your health and your goals so that at each session, whether it’s with a nutritionist, personal trainer or general practitioner, there’s no need for any repetition. The Total Ten is ideal for those who are after a relatively quick overhaul and includes gym classes, a smoothie or juice a day, a salad or soup a day, a Capri Palace Leg School® Treatment and a one hour lymphatic massage. Meanwhile, the Total Tone combines personal training and the Grace Belgravia Home Delivery service. “There are several menus to choose from such as wellbeing, cleanse and fitness, and clients get three meals and a selection of snacks a day that are delivered straight to your door each morning.
“All of the meal plans have been devised by our expert chefs and nutritionists,” says Jade. You receive a fitness assessment and three one hour personal training sessions a week. “Everything is booked in according to your schedule – we work around you to make it work.” Meanwhile, the Total Transformation includes 16 personal training sessions, Grace Belgravia Home Delivery service, a full nutrition consultation, supplements, colonic hydrotherapy sessions and hypnotherapy, to name but a few. As well as these programmes, Grace Belgravia has many other offerings such as weekend bootcamps, vitamin infusions, medical services and much, much more. Ageing well and looking and feeling your very best has never been easier. BACK TO BASICS The Journal tries out an unusual massage using Bamboo rods Francesca Lee-Rogers
T
he smell of a Moroccan spa is a very distinctive one and The Spa in Dolphin Square is no different. Upon arrival, I am hit by a strong orange blossom scent with a mixture of warm yet subtle spices. It takes me back to the three different occasions I have visited the North African country, and this latest discovery in Pimlico is a welcome one, especially as I’m a huge enthusiast of a hammam. The interior is true to its roots with wooden mosaic Moroccan coffee tables on which tealight candles shine brightly in metal and glass lanterns. Even the opulent red and gold locker key complete with tassels has been well thought out.
The interior is true to its roots with wooden mosaic Moroccan coffee tables on which tealight candles shine brightly I’m here to try the new Bamboo Massage, which is an earthly yet well-fitting addition to 20
the treatment menu. The therapist starts by pouring warm Shea butter oil over my legs, back and arms and then gets to work using heated bamboo rods. Using firm pressure, it feels as though she’s kneading out my knots with a rolling pin. More time is allocated to my tension and the bamboo rods allow for deeper massage. It’s certainly an excellent treatment for winter as the warmth of the oil is soothing while the rods are without doubt effective. The 45-minute massage is unfortunately only on the back of the body but afterwards I feel freer and
definitely relaxed. I decide against a mint tea in the relaxation area and instead sip water and fresh lemon to rehydrate. Although busier than some of the spas in the area, it’s surely a good sign, and as for the treatment, it makes a great alternative to a traditional Moroccan hammam. The latest collection from The Lighting Store offers a modern take on the traditional chandelier by Austrian lighting specialist Kolarz. The clever design creates the impression that crystals are emerging from the walls themselves, illuminated by concealed LED bulbs. Crafted using clear Swarovski crystals, the lighting illusion makes for a truly magical addition to the home. From £1,650, thelightingstore.co.uk 23

[interview]
Lady of
the manor Lady Weinberg, aka Anouska Hempel, sits down with the Journal to discuss The Franklin, the latest project by the interior designer ELLEN MILLARD
“R
ight, so we’ve got to do this stupid interview and I’ve only got about five minutes to do it.” It’s 7pm at The Franklin Hotel in Knightsbridge and it’s safe to say that Lady Weinberg is, for want of a better word, frazzled. I arrive amidst a dispute about fireplaces and am ushered into a neighbouring room while she wraps up her other meeting. When she comes in she apologises, explaining that she’s been extremely busy as the new hotel – which was refurbished by her architecture and interior
design firm Anouska Hempel Design – has not that long opened. The brains behind Blakes Hotel, Blakes Amsterdam and Hempel Hotel, not to mention countless restaurants and retail spaces for the likes of Tom Aikens, Louis Vuitton and Van Cleef & Arpels, Lady Weinberg is petite and softly spoken, but at the same time slightly intimidating, on more than one occasion commandeering the interview and turning the questions back on me (“go on, you answer and we’ll use your words”). The whole experience is rather amusing – something of a novelty

[FEATURE] after countless media trained interviewees – and it’s clear from the get-go that we’re going to have a lot more than problematic heating to discuss. But first, the hotel. You’d be forgiven for mistaking The Franklin for another red-bricked townhouse on Egerton Gardens, the only clue to its presence being two slate grey F’s stamped on columns either side of the front door. Indeed, when I first visited a few weeks earlier, I walked right past it, and it was only when the doorman flagged me down that I realised my error. Inside, charcoal and ivory stone tiles lead through to the almost-reception, a round table on which neatly displayed coffee table books circle a lone concierge, who could just as easily be mistaken for a fellow guest. The entire space is made up of six townhouses that encircle a private garden, a haven of tranquillity just moments from the frenetic Brompton Road.
The effect is striking and at the same time homely, and not what you’d expect “It was inspired by Venice,” Lady Weinberg explains. “Every floor looks like a Venetian piazza or a Venetian well and not one is exactly the same; they are all different and disparate.” The hotel has 35 rooms and suites decorated with plush velvet upholstery, metal frames featuring floral illustrations and mirrored furniture. The monochromatic colour scheme continues in the lobby, where grey and white ikat print cushions perch on charcoal sofas; the only pop of colour comes from the vibrant foliage propped in the corners and the odd gold detail peppered here and there. The effect is striking and at the same time homely, and not at all what you would expect to be hiding behind the red-bricked facade. 25
“[The idea for The Franklin] has been in my mind for a long time,” the designer tells me. “It should be very similar to the Brompton Oratory, if ever I did such a thing in this area, and how lucky am I to have six houses to do it in? It looks like the Duomo in Milan and the auspices of the Brompton Oratory, in the tiny back streets of Knightsbridge.” A former actress who cut her teeth starring in films such as James Bond flick On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Lady Weinberg traded the silver screen for silver service in 1978, when she opened her first luxury boutique hotel – often credited as the first of its kind – Blakes in South Kensington. An amalgamation of objects that the designer collected on her travels, Blakes is a mismatch of cultural influences, and is not dissimilar to The Franklin with its townhouse layout and mix of designs. It has been the hotel of choice for the likes of Princess Margaret and Gwyneth Paltrow and to this day remains one of the best in its league. Has the industry changed since it was founded? “Oh, dramatically,” she exclaims. “There are boutique hotels all
26
over the place now; they’re two a penny. You don’t use the word boutique any more. I’ll have to think of something new, won’t I?” Fresh ideas seem to come thick and fast to Lady Weinberg, whose design team has been at the helm of many a lavish building. She struggles to pinpoint her favourite project (“I love them all”) and looks positively baffled when I ask if designing for The Franklin’s townhouse setting was a challenge. “I don’t know what you mean by that,” she says. “I find it all inspirational and wonderful to do. Everything’s a challenge, but that’s a word I don’t know how to use.”
The people are the most important thing: not the decoration, not the design, but how it is run She is equally befuddled with a question about her design style, too. “I am specific as a person. Just by talking to me you can tell just how specific I am, but that doesn’t mean I have a specific style,” she shrugs. “That’s up for other people to judge.” Design style or no design style, the interior mogul’s projects have been consistently well-received, so much so that Architectural Digest named her in a list of 100 top interior designers and architects in the world, not just once, but twice. For The Franklin, Lady Weinberg took charge of the creative side of things (it’s owned by Italian group Starhotels) but, with four of her own hotels under her belt, the designer is no stranger to the hospitality sector, which goes some way to explain her stressed demeanor when I arrive – perfecting the design is just one string to a successful hotel’s many bows. As somewhat of an expert in the field, does she have any hotel pet peeves? “Of course I have, don’t you? What are yours?” She quizzes me before taking pity on
my bumbling reply, and adds: “If you go backwards and forwards and nobody recognises you, or if your little whims and wishes aren’t looked after. The people are the most important thing; not the decoration, not the design, but how it is run and what the atmosphere is like when you get in.” Along with The Franklin, the designer and her team are working hard with projects in Istanbul,

Paris and New York. “We’re flat out,” she tells me. “I’ve got a little group of very creative, highly talented people and we go all over the world.” The designer herself is heavily involved with each venture, telling me that she was in France the previous day for her impending Parisian project. When she’s not travelling, she stays at her home in Knightsbridge, in a house that
When she’s not travelling, she stays at her home in Knightsbridge she describes as “a complete shambles”. “Everything’s all over the place; there are shoes everywhere, chewing gum all over the joint, kids’ writing, it’s an absolute shambles. But outside I’m
slightly different,” she says with a smile. Of the capital, she expresses a particular fondness. “London’s been very good to me. I’m so happy in this part of the city; the whole corner of this world is part of my very early days of magic and I’ve come back to it. w
hen I visit Tewkesbury Park in the heart of Gloucestershire between The Cotswolds and The Malverns, it has recently undergone the second phase of its renovations at a cost of £4million with the introduction of nine new suites, meeting rooms and a plush new orangery. The Victorian manor that overlooks the famous site of the A.D. 1471 Battle of Tewkesbury, is in prime position and has expansive views over 163 acres of countryside, as well as the hotel’s very own golf course. No manor house would be complete without a long, sweeping driveway and Tewkesbury Park’s certainly fits the bill. On first impressions, I’m immediately struck by the interior décor – the lobby area is vast and the soft, muted cream, blue and gold colour palette works

Upstairs in the main part of the building, the Margaret of Anjou Suite awaits and is one of the nine suites that has been named after key characters who fought in the famous historical battle. The room is wellproportioned and the interior has a similar finish to the lobby but with a slightly more country take – Zoffany and Osbourne & Little fabrics and soft furnishings abound here – the plush leather chairs have been covered with tartan material, the heavy curtains drape from the huge ceiling while the free-standing copper slipper bath

within the bedroom adds that extra touch of decadence. Bathers can also soak up the magnificent country views from the traditional Victorian sash windows, just make sure a golfer or two isn’t walking past! Other touches, such as a Nespresso and fresh milk in a mini fridge show that the finer touches have been well thought-out and his ‘n’ her robes make me wonder whether I really
want to leave the room or just order in-room service. In fact, I was pondering just this sentiment later that night. As my husband and I settle down to enjoy a set menu in the Garden Restaurant, we’re somewhat taken back by the staff that seem to be running around like headless chickens, unsure of what they should be doing. We give them the benefit of the doubt but so many parts of the meal go wrong it could give Faulty Towers a run for its money. From receiving food that wasn’t even on the set menu to not having cutlery, we’re genuinely shocked at the level of service. This is especially surprising given that the hotel is very much top-notch everywhere else. This can also be said for breakfast and unfortunately on
the Sunday morning, the very limited staff just can’t cope with the previous night’s wedding party as well as hotel guests. I line up for 20 minutes waiting for a croissant, and it makes me wonder whether I’m in search of the Holy Grail. The hotel’s spa, swimming pool and Jacuzzi is also somewhat of a let-down. The spa is currently a temporary fixture while management decide what to do with it and, to be frank, is simply not up to scratch. Meanwhile, my husband finds parts of the Jacuzzi’s fixtures loose in the tub which is somewhat baffling. In summary, the hotel’s interior is beautiful as is its situation. The restaurant, spa and facilities need much more work to bring it up to par. However, if these issues are resolved, I think it’s a much-needed addition to the quaint village of Tewkesbury, if not Gloucestershire as a whole. reported. Airbnb has been transforming London’s property market in recent times. Throughout 2016, however, many jurisdictions have been clamping down on the company. Authorities in many cities have complained that Airbnb turns a blind eye to rule breakers, and that the popularity of Airbnb has reduced the supply of long-term rentals and disturbed the peace of residential buildings. New York has led the way and now London has joined the growing throng of the “Airbnb Ruling” in the courts late last year.
So what are the main legal issues? Planning: Is Airbnb consistent with planning law? The current planning

Even the most seasoned Harrods shoppers are aware that sometimes it can be a little bit of a minefield navigating the one million square foot store. Luckily, Harrods has taken the hassle out of trying to find out how to get from one department to another with its hi-tech navigation system, created by Pointr. It’s ideal if you are looking for a specific gift in time for Valentine’s Day. The technology allows users to type in their destination through their phone or iPad and it then shows the route, similar to Google Maps. Using more than 500 ‘iBeacons’ on the

However, care must still be taken: it is possible for local planning authorities to disapply the related planning relaxations for particular areas or properties. Some are also arguing that short-term letting falls into a different use class to private residential, thereby requiring planning permission. Turnkey Suites delivered in Knightsbridge
Hot tub: the £100k bath Celia Sawyer was commissioned by an unnamed customer to come up with a “bespoke piece of objet d’art” for a bathroom, and brought Robert James Grace of Grace of London on board to plan, produce and create the one-off “masterpiece”. Grace of London has been working in the field of mosaics and gold leaf designs for some 35 years, and the team of British craftsmen manufacture handmade pieces for affluent aesthetes all around the world. The collaboration has resulted in a design for a 24-carat tub adorned with 250,000 clear and topaz crystals. Artisans including Clough Harris, Thomas Restorations and Locker and Riley – many of whom hold royal warrants – will now set to work on actually making the piece, which is described as “something exquisite and never seen before”. Celia Sawyer says: “My client has exceptional standards and only expects the best in the world. There
was no need or desire to look any further than our own shores here in the UK to find the plethora of talent required to make this dream a reality. We have so many excellent British craftsmen and artisans and I love supporting home-grown talent. It is crucial to show the younger generations what can be achieved, particularly in the craft industry as all of these experts started as apprentices. The exquisite team involved in this project are now major players in their own right and it’s wonderful to see the design develop.” Robert Grace adds: “We create super-luxury sanitaryware and furniture for exclusive, signature residences and clients worldwide all wanting that special piece that is not just available off the shelf.” celiasawyer.com, graceoflondon.com

A rare multi-unit turnkey scheme has been launched in Knightsbridge, promising some pretty healthy-sounding returns. The 37 Beaufort Gardens project – a joint venture between Executec Limited and AR&V Investments Ltd – has delivered nine apartment suites (sized between 397 and 582 sq ft) behind a period façade and just a couple of blocks away from Harrods. Richard Lankester of London-based consultancy RLDC has been commissioned to design the interiors. The units are ready to go and feature engineered oak plank and herringbone parquet flooring, Jacaranda’s Willingdon carpets, bespoke kitchens, living areas, bedrooms with en suite bathrooms and Mandarin Stone mosaic marble flooring. Prices range from £975k to £1.725m – which works out at between £2,500 and £3,200 per sq ft – and estimated current rental yields are said to be approaching four per cent. Beauchamp Estates and Harrods Estates have been instructed and expect the proposition to attract investors and owner-occupiers alike.

A moving market
Stuart Bailey office head of Knight Frank Belgravia tells the Journal how they have adjusted to the recent changes in the property market with great results Francesca Lee-Rogers Chester Row
K
night Frank Belgravia will be celebrating its best year out of the last three when the financial year comes to an end this March, and office head Stuart Bailey and his team believe it is all about how they have acted accordingly in an ever-changing property market. Indeed, its Knight Frank Belgravia Market Insight 2016 report by Tom Bill sends out a positive message which states that there has been an uplift in buyers as they recognise that the area represents good value once again. “At the height of the market in summer 2013/14, Belgravia was perceived as being rather expensive,” Stuart tells the Journal. “However, we saw that we had to correct prices pretty quickly as the market started to turn.” It was this decisive reaction from Stuart and his team who have
all worked on patch for many years that has now paid off. Although Stuart admits that the prices weren’t changed “quickly enough” to begin with, and that many buyers turned to other areas such as Marylebone in search of better value for money, once prices were adjusted, other markets began to saturate and buyers came back to Belgravia. “Our sellers’ motivations hadn’t quite calibrated with buyers' expectations,” he says, “then about 10 months ago, we started to look like very good value for money.” Once prices had been corrected by approximately 15 per cent off from the peak of the market, Stuart affirms that the office was still achieving 95 per cent of asking prices. A realistic pricing structure has clearly been successful for Knight Frank Belgravia. Since 1 April 2016,

LonRes states that 54 properties were sold in Belgravia and that the office received a 35 per cent market share, and of the 32 houses that sold in Belgravia, Knight Frank had a 50 per cent market share. “It all translates to sensible pricing and about being honest with our clients – they want our advice,” says Stuart. It is this client relationship that matters. “We looked at what we sold best last year and it was properties where business had been referred to us as those were the clients who were the most receptive.” With correct pricing structure, local knowledge and by adapting accordingly, Knight Frank certainly has lots of causes for celebration.
