s. Kenya Fields is a determined and hardworking counselor at Ellender Memorial High School. Ms. Fields has many qualities that make her special. There are so many that it would take a couple of hours to name all of them. The most important qualities for me have been that she is very passionate about her job, caring, patient, and outgoing. She has tremendously impacted my life with her desire to see all her students graduate and succeed in life. It amazes me how she sets time aside to talk to all her students including myself to see if we have a problem with a class and help us find a solution to ensure that we graduate with our class. She could have been very busy but she made sure to set time aside to talk to me about my grades and how to improve, about the colleges and scholarships I should apply for. Ms. Fields inspired me to go above and beyond to accomplish more goals. She gave me many real life situations which opened my eyes and pushed me into doing hard work which would help me out later in life. She made me into a different person after making me realize that life out of school is going to be totally different than what I am accustomed to. She encourages me to strive for greatness. She encourages me to have an open mind to possibilities that are presented to me and not to limit myself. I want to thank her for putting up with me and helping me succeed in school. With her help, I was able to accomplish all of my high school goals and set new goals for when I get to college. I will forever be grateful to her for supporting me and my dreams throughout my four years of high school.

I
have chosen Mrs. Navy as my Inspirational Educator because she cares not only about your grades but you as a person. When I started my freshman year at Ellender, I was nervous and scared to be going to a new school but meeting Mrs. Navy helped me open up and smile more. She was the first teacher to talk to me and help me if I needed it, and if someone were to mess with me she would always set them straight. Every time I see Mrs. Navy it reminds me to keep my head up and thank God for people like her. She encourages me without her having to say a word to me. I see her in the hallway and remember that she was one of the people that helped me get to where I am today. I want to thank her for helping me become a better person and showing me that hard work does pay off for the future.

Ann Church Volunteer AF TER HIGH SCHOOL I plan to atten d Nich olls State University to major in Nursin g.
n Inspirational Educator is one who has the ability to inspire students while acting as a teacher, a role model, a leader, a sponsor, and a variety of other roles. Mrs. Susan Adams is a perfect description of just that. Mrs. Adams is mostly known as South Terrebonne High School’s English IV teacher but also serves as Gatorette sponsor and is heavily involved with coordinating several events that happen on South Terrebonne’s campus. What makes her so special is, despite all of the events and responsibilities she takes on, she always goes above and beyond to make sure the people she loves and cares for are safe and taken care of. Mrs. Adams manages her own personal life, which includes four children, her clubs, and teaching, all while inspiring others. Since the day I first met her, I knew that she was going to positively impact my life. Going into high school without a mother figure was difficult, but she was one of the many people who made it just a little bit easier. From day one, she has encouraged me to stay focused and remain positive through every situation that is thrown my way. Because of Gatorettes, Mrs. Adams and I became very close and I began to really look up to her. I knew that whenever I needed someone to talk to, she would be there for me and I admire her for that. One of the many things I love about her is her ability to put our relationship aside during class and treat me as she would any other student. Another thing would have to be her level of patience that she has with all that is thrown at her. One of the ways that she has inspired me is by believing in me. Also, the way she makes decisions solely based on what benefits others, not herself. I would mainly like to thank her for making me into the person I am today because without her, I would not be such a strong positive influence on others. So, thank you, Mrs. Adams, for always going above and beyond for me, it truly means the world and does not go unnoticed. I can only hope to one day become half the woman that she is.

y Inspirational Educator is special because we had a very strong bond throughout the three years that she taught me. Even though she was a teacher, Ms. Bourdier was also a friend and always there when I needed her. I have been in the gifted program my whole life, but when I got to junior high, I was nervous that it would be too much to handle. Before classes even started, “Miss Bee had a serious conversation with me, motivating me to take the chance and just try it out. Luckily, I made the decision to stay with her and it greatly paid off in my educational career. I got the chance to advance in math above the others in my class and prepare for high school. During my junior high years, Miss Bee's classroom was always a safe place for me to go on bad days or when I needed help with anything. She is a very patient and understanding teacher who gave me numerous chances and opportunities to learn and try again if I messed up. Also, outside of teaching, she is a very strong woman who goes through a lot and is truly inspiring. I even had the chance to form a great bond with her daughter, Samantha, who will always be a friend. I am inspired by her strong will, passion to teach, and patience. Miss Bee taught me many things, including social skills, discipline, and responsibility. I would like to thank her for shaping me in to the student I am today and always pushing me to be my best.

r. Bergeron, or “Mr. B” as everyone calls him, has made an impact on my life since the day I met him. Mr. B taught me AP Government as a sophomore and U.S. History as a junior. He is the most effective teacher I have ever had and because of him I was able to pass the AP exam for U.S. Goverment as well as the CLEP for U.S. History. All the students and faculty love Mr. B and the energy he brings to the classroom, but what makes Mr. B special is that he is more than a teacher to his students. He is a man who lives by his words and teaches his students about life outside of the classroom. Mr. B has overcome many obstacles being a teacher including cancer and surgeries on his arm. He has done more for me than I could ever ask of him and has helped me with personal issues and life situations when he didn’t have to. He truly represents what it means to be a man as well as a teacher and a mentor in life. His dedication and persistence inspires me and it is an honor to choose him as my Inspirational Educator.

Mrs. Brown is always there whenever I need to talk to someone and she is so understanding. She does not tell me what I want to hear, but what I need to hear and I cherish that. Mrs. Brown is also my Beta Club sponsor and she always tries to instill in me that helping others is very important because you never know the positive affect you could be having on a person's life by showing a simple act of kindness. Mrs. Brown has always encouraged me to do great in school because she knows that I am ambitious and knows that the sky's the limit for me. Anytime I need help in Calculus class she is always willing to help me, but she wants me to give myself a chance to figure it out on my own first because she knows I am capable of doing it. I would like to thank Mrs. Brown for believing in me even when I did not believe in myself at times. Thank you for being a great teacher and I will never forget everything you have done for me.

He told me there is always more to learn and to “work smarter, not harder. He encouraged me with respect, knowledge, and positive energy. I would like to thank Mr. Domangue for presenting me with the opportunity to learn a skill I can start a foundation with for me and my family. chose Ms. Rose Ursery as my Inspirational Educator because she is a great teacher and was always kind and honest to me. Every day I went to her class last year, I was happy to go to learn something new. She teaches Technical Writing. She taught me things I didn’t know about in the subject while also letting us do fun activities with the class as review for tests and let us work with partners if need be. Mrs. Ursery has impacted my life by being one of those terrific teachers I had to teach me something new and exciting that I can apply in my future studies for college or anywhere else I decide to go. I now know more about writing memos, emails, technical reports, style guides, how to format documents and design, and even how to form a resume the CORRECT way. She has encouraged me in many ways because if I do decide to be a technical writer, which I enjoy writing at times, I know what to do and how to approach the different aspects of technical writing. Lastly, I would love to thank Mrs. Ursery for everything she’s done for me and taught me my junior year and just for being that awesome, positive role model in my school life.

She impacted my life because she helped me to be more engaged in school and instilled in me a love of learning. She inspired me to be a better student. At the time when she was my math teacher, I already loved math, but she further sparked my interest for the subject encouraging me to excel every day. I would like to thank her for giving me a great educational experience and for showing me that learning can be fun and rewarding. Ms. Williamson was also the teacher who helped me on my road to being a Talented Drama Student. hroughout my educational career, there have been multiple educators who have been influential in shaping my educational foundation. It is difficult to narrow my choice down to only one educator. As I reflect over the years, there are at least five people who have helped me to grow as a person and life-long learner. The educator that I have selected as my Inspirational Educator is Mrs. Chequita Martin. It does not matter if I am on campus at school or at Rouses, Mrs. Martin always makes it a point to stop
and say hello and give me encouraging words. What makes Mrs. Martin special is that she is always smiling and has a bubbly personality. I remember when I was in the ninth grade and I would pass by her class to get to my first hour class, she would tell me good morning and show a bright smile. If I was having a bad morning, this would give me the boost I needed to get through the day. Her classroom always had a relaxing atmosphere. After a long day, the stresses of my other classes, and the anxiety of being a freshman, I knew that when I got to her class at sixth hour I could take a moment to relax as we learned about cooking techniques and recipes. I admire Mrs. Martin for her competitiveness and endurance. She is always training and competing in a race. I remember her being excited when she was training to run in the Boston Marathon. It was obvious that this is something that she has a passion for whether she places in the race or not. By competing in various races, she gets to travel to different cities and countries. Her adventurous nature is definitely admirable. I hope to be able to travel the world like her one day. It humbles me when I hear her say that I will become something important in life. I am honored and grateful that she would see my potential and take an interest in my educational journey. Her encouraging words help me to keep going when I feel like giving up. It feels good to hear her tell me how proud she is of my accomplishments because she has known me since I was in the ninth grade. She has seen me transition from a freshman to a senior. She has seen me grow from a seed to a flower that is about to bloom in the world. I would like to thank Mrs. Martin for always being encouraging and kind. I would like to thank her for the recipes that I learned in her class. I still use her chicken fried rice and pizza turnover recipes to this day. Thank you for always being positive and optimistic. Thank you for simply being yourself.
