Congratulations! You have made an excellent decision towards building and growing your business. This event will have a positive impact on your future. Our staff is committed to helping you maximize your trip and get the most that you possibly can out of it. Please take the time to read through this packet and plan ahead. For all the newbies to Family Reunion, you will find the venue rather simple to follow. And if you get lost, you will find many friendly staff members on hand to direct and answer your questions. Remember, if you somehow get lost in the crowds while in Phoenix, one rule never seems to fail: FOLLOW THE HERD. PREPARE TO

LEARN, BE INSPIRED AND,

TO HAVE FUN!

Read through this packet to get the most from Family Reunion. Family Reunion is an annual tradition for many of us, so we know how to get around. Our advice is to build a relationship with someone, whether from our office or another associate from a different market center and plan events to attend together. You will have more fun and you will also have someone to share the memories. That is what Family Reunion is about—it is to have a shared experience with like-minded individuals and to expand your potentials! See you in Phoenix!

HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM FAMILY REUNION! YOUR GUIDE TO OPTIMIZING YOUR FAMILY REUNION EXPERIENCE! COME EARLY TO PLAY Because you are there to build your business to the next level, and to uncover enough ideas to m ore than pay for your trip, come early to play and rest up for a phenomenal event.

COME WITH FOCUSED GOALS: WORK TO MEET THEM To get the most out of Family Reunion try not to be overwhelmed with too many great ideas. Est ablish a clear set of a few objectives beforehand. You might ask yourself, “What one o r two things, that if I learned those would help me the most to have a fantastic 2014?” Remember to stay focused on what you can use now to better yourself professionally. Concentrate on what you want at this point in your career; there will be time to use other ideas you may come across later. Continually remind yourself of your primary objective. While looking at the agenda, select specific presentations that will provide the skills you need to improve your business. Have a plan, but be flexible too and take advantage of any opportunities that may come along. You won’t be able to attend all the sessions, but you can buy and listen to the CDs. Talk to others about sessions that you did not attend to see if it is worthwhile to purchase an audio of that session. If you have your team members coming, have a meeting before going and discuss who is going to cover what sessions for the team, and then have everyone give presentations when you return back home.

KEEP YOUR PERSPECTIVE TO AVOID OVERLOAD Do not let the apparent success of others intimidate you. Yes, you will see many talented people making presentations, but not everyone is a long-time agent. In fact, 25 percent of those attending are usually firsttimers. Keep your own style, your own operation, and your point in your career in mind. Be ready to make your own decision about what is best for you. Don’t write down key ideas from someone with a four-perso n staff and expect to do them all yourself the week you get back if you are a solo agent. Pace yourself and take a few breaks from the non-stop sessions. Take a walk outside or a momen t to lie down in your room. Working out would be a great way to re-fresh your mind. Such breaks can help yo u keep focused on what is important and avoid overload.

UNDERSTAND AND PLAY THE NETWORK GAME Bring at least 500 business cards, and understand that half of what you will learn will be in talking with others before, between, and after the sessions. Whether you are new to the profession or an established pro, do not be afraid to approach others you want to meet.

HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM THE KELLER WILLIAMS FAMILY REUNION

THE GUIDE PRACTICE YOUR INTRODUCTION Memorize a 30-second introduction/elevator speech on who you are and what you do in such a w ay as to have the other party want to ask you more questions about what you do. If they don’t, re-write it!

LEARN TO ASK GREAT OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS What’s working for you (in marketing, working with clients, etc.)? Of the presentations you’ve seen so far, which would you recommend I buy audios of? What have you learned from this Family Reunion? What separates you from other agents in your area? What advice would you give for someone just starting? What’s the biggest setback you’ve experienced as an agent? What works best for you in promoting your business? Use “three deep questions.” When your conversation is focused, you’ll find other agents love to talk and share ideas. Make good use of your time and don’t spend all of it with the same people. Be aware of the person beside you as well as those on the platform. All the ‘mega-agents’ are not up on the platform or on the program. More than likely, many of the best are sitting right next to you. Come out of your comfort zone, start up conversations, ask questions and learn!

C APTURE KEY IDEAS Even with your specific goals, you will tend to be inundated with vast amounts of contacts, energy and ideas. Plan on finishing the Family Reunion with no more than three personal change goals and three strategic projects. Be ready to use your Family Reunion Action Plan to identify them. Start by taking ‘Keeper’ notes during each session. To collect ideas worth keeping, write down key phrases, quotes, or ideas you want to work on when you return. Try to limit them to one page of notes p er session; selecting only the advice that seems to fit your style and approach. At the end of each day, identify the best ideas from your notes and enter them into your ‘Keeper’ notebook. Also, take the time to write down contacts you want to nurture, feelings and experiences worth remembering and books, audiotapes, or other resources you might want to purchase to support needed changes.
