For the freedom to finish your floor exactly as you wish, Russwood recommends our unfinished flooring. Available in both solid and engineered oak, the boards are selected and graded by hand and precision-machined but, unlike our pre-finished range, no finishes are applied. The result is a floor which can be finished on-site, giving you complete flexibility to select the best option for your project.

Our unfinished oak floors are available in three different grades, which are categorised by the presence and size of natural wood knots.

Character B (1) This is our most rustic style of flooring, where knots and imperfections have been left unfilled to retain the traditional, natural look of the floor. For a warm, country feel this is the optimal choice.

Character A (2) In this, our most popular product, all knots have been filled and sanded to complement the natural figuring and colour of the board. This is the perfect choice if you are looking for some character, but would prefer a slightly less rustic appearance than Character B. Prime (3) If you are looking for a clean, contemporary look then our Prime grade fits the bill. This is one of our highest grades of timber and each board has been carefully selected to ensure that the beautiful grain of the wood is highlighted, but only a few small knots are present.

Once you have selected the grade you prefer, you can then choose from our large selection of board widths, ranging from 100mm up to an impressive 220mm.

Versatility of the range means that both our solid and engineered oak ranges are suitable for use with underfloor heating.
