Brooklyn Eagle Group
BY ROB ABRUZZESE The Record The New York State court system recently began presumptive mediation for its civil cases. It's a big change that naturally has many lawyers and judges skeptical. However, Justice George Silver has been travelling around the city with a message to skeptics — presumptive mediation works. See page 2. TOP RIGHT: Hon. George Silver, deputy chief administrative judge for the NYC courts, was the guest speaker at the Columbian Lawyers Association’s monthly meeting. A desire to give back to his community drives Frank Francis’ bar association efforts
Frank Francis was not even sure why he walked into the Brooklyn Bar Association for the first time, likely as part of continuing legal education that lawyers are required to maintain. Francis has been an attorney since 2009 and is active in a number of local bar associations including the Brooklyn Bar Association, the LGBT Bar Associat-ion of New York and the Hispanic National Bar Association, where he serves as president of Region II.
