Caedes Cruenta

Black Metal band from

Greece released the third

Full-length album Of Ritual

Necrophagia and Mysterious

Ghoul Cults on February 1, 2020.

Formed in 2003, Caedes

Cruenta are the foremost torchbearers for the classic Greek black metal sound. For them, the early

Hellenic flame of the “Big

Three” – Rotting Christ,

Varathron, and Necromantia – never died, nor did the contemporaneous flames of early Thou Art Lord and

Zemial among others. “Greek black metal” may have changed shapes and styles over the past 30 years, but for the members of Caedes Cruenta, the ancient days of the early ‘90s burns stronger than ever. Like its full-length predecessor and the EPs right before and right after, one could be forgiven for thinking CAEDES CRUENTA have transported the listener back in time with Of Ritual Necrophagia and Mysterious Ghoul Cults, so authentic and invigorating is their Hellenic classicism. Thus, with this album do CAEDES CRUENTA rightfully deserve to be mentioned among the Greek gods. Tracklist: 1. Of Ritual Necrophagia and Mysterious Ghoul Cults 2. Aura of Immortal Souls 3. Dead Exaltation Technical/Progressive Death Metal band from India released the first Fulllength album Despondent on February 5, 2020. Dead Exaltation began in 2015, drawing inspiration from a variety of bands, including Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Gorod, Spawn of Possession, and Cynic. Throughout their existence, the band has focused on creating thought-provoking, concept-based lyrics and song structures adorned with complex rhythms and melodies, as well as an old school sensibility. Lyrically the band chooses to add a bit of spice to the usual death metal fare by creating a conceptual story that continues with every song. It revolves around a psychopath warden who runs a prison holding innocent people picked up from the streets. The guards of prison are cannibal psychopaths who do not refrain themselves from torturing, killing, and eating people. Like every good tale, this story is divided into three acts: the incidents, the psychology of the warden, and an investigation leading to a brutal and bloody end of the story.

Kjeld

Black Metal band from Netherlands released the second Full-length album Ôfstân on February 15, 2020. The album was written over the course of 2017, 2018, and 2019. It is an extension and an evolution of their previous works that raises the bar set in the past, with nine insanely strong songs. Ever since their early beginnings, the band has had one vision: to combine aggression and atmosphere in black metal. The band draws inspiration from Frisian nature, myths and sagas, and the darkness of man, combining these to create their own unique sound. Kjeld plays fast paced black metal without forsaking melody and dynamics. This album is crafted with impressive songwriting and a monolithic sound, with total attention for pure genius melodies, fueled with the most ferocious and aggressive drumming The Netherlands has to offer. This album is pure creative mastery, with their trademark sound and riffs combined to create their own unique sound. As always, the songs are soaked in the rich and ancient Frisian history, and solely chanted in Frisian, a minority Germanic language most closely related to English.

Post-Black Metal band from

Austria released the fifth

Full-length album Mære on

February 19, 2020.

Mӕre - a malicious folkloristic entity creeping on sleeping people’s chest during the night and causing breathlessness and anxiety. It’s exactly this state of diffuse terror and paralysis that has been enshrined in

HARAKIRI FOR THE

SKY’s music ever since their debut album.

As pioneers of the post movement, mixing haunting black metal with post rock moments, the Austrians have, ever since their conception in 2011, drawn fans and critics deeper and deeper into their maelstrom of melancholy, self hate and anger, and even reached #29 of the German charts with their previous release «Arson». And once again, several friends of the band entered the intoxicated world of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY to guest on «Mӕre»: While Alcest’s front man Neige brings a haunting flair to ‘Sing For The Damage We’ve Done’, before the anonymous voice of Gaerea joins in on ‘Silver Needle // Golden Dawn’. Black Metal band from Portugal released the first Full-length album Ruina Humana Pestis on February 20, 2021. Sometimes evil grows silently and with fervour in unexpected places... From the rural area of Alhadas (Portugal), the entity Morte Sacra has existed in one form or another already for about 20 years. Indeed a brute diamond, yet with no need of any kind of polishing whatsoever, the album “Ruina Humana Pestis” was actually recorded around 2012, under barren conditions, with no fancy equipment at hand and far away from professional studios. Another living proof that authentic Black Metal breeds perfectly in desolate milieus, where the smell of earth and burned wood intertwines with that of noxious black molds… This timeless and fucking raw material will definitely appeal to fans of Ofermod, Watain, Nefandus, Acrimonious and REAL Black Metal in general!
