Interview with Angelica Hecate
Hecate Pagan are a cool Raw Black Metal band from Mexico. Andrew Stanton spoke to singer Angelica Hecate about their new upcoming album.
Hello and welcome to Inside the Darkness.
Thank you very much to you for the invitation to this interview, it is a pleasure to be part of this great magazine.
- Can you tell our readers a bit about your history, please?
Hecate Pagan comes from an old band from which we divided the members which we had to put other members in order to achieve our goals as a group to get new music and do shows outside of our country Hecate Pagan is a Mexican Black Metal band that is already on the door new music full of tears, hatred, truth about the darkness that humanity lives, the evil that man can bring to the world, the evil that can make you a slave to yourself and that if you do not join that world coven you will see blood, destruction and death! That is Hecate Pagan in his music.
- Who are the members of Hecate Pagan?
Hecate Pagan are: Satoshi Lira (Drums) Amourtus (Guitar and bass) Hecate (Summons, keyboard).
- What bands did you like growing up?
There were many but I grew up with Hard Rock such as Warrant, Skid row, Whitesnake, Guns and Roses, Poison among others then I was more extreme I started listening to Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer among others from there the influences for what I do now with my group!
- What is the Mexican Black Metal scene like?
Black Metal in Mexico has taken ground in recent years. In my opinion the good bands within the Black (scene) are in the states of Mexico the Black scene there is more support than in the city each band grabs its influences from cult bands! some very good Black bands in Mexico people need to support more of their bands to be able to do more events of the genre!
- What Mexican bands should our readers check out?
There are many bands but I recommend Xibalba, Black Hate, Gersuva, Majestic Downfall, good Mexican bands!
- Why do some bands prefer to make Raw Black Metal? Is Symphonic Black Metal and Melodic Black Metal too nice?
I have always said that Black Metal should be crude, perhaps because of the type of lyrics that normally speak darkness, blood, wars, hatred, evil and demons! It goes hand in hand that is why we opted for Raw Black Metal although it is not A rule that should be so since there are very good Symphonic and Melodic Black bands, they are bands that do very well and work hard so that that fusion of black with symphonic or melodic comes out precise and very compact and gives it a good atmosphere and why not if it sounds nice!

- Does your album have a release date yet?
Yes of course the album will be released at the beginning of June under Satirus Production before that there will be an official video with the first single title from the same EP with the name The all-Seeing eye. It was an EP with 5 songs.
- Are you touring yet?
If we have had many invitations from 2020 until now but we have not really taken any since the pandemic has not allowed it because if it is to expose a lot to contracting the virus in 2020 we had a tour to Colombia but it was not possible due to the pandemic we stayed To return to that same country and the same cities as soon as it is possible to play, we had the island of Cuba which was not possible either, we hope to enlarge that tour encompassing Central America and South America, Cuba, hopefully in 2022 we can already travel while we will continue making music and more. Black Metal!!!
- Do you have a message for our readers?
Thanks to the magazine and its people for the interview with the readers who read us, we will continue to make Black Metal to fill their ears with a lot of darkness and we hope one day to reach so many cities to burst heads with our music and greetings from Mexico!!!
