Mad Mayestik Reminiscing the Unstable Tutors: Dr. Ir. Hendrajaya Isnaeni, M.Sc. Farid Aditama Rakun, S.Ars., M.Arch. Verarisa Anastasia Ujung, S.Ars, M.I.A.

This project comments on the possible outcome after Mayestik, one of the most vital markets located in South Jakarta, collapses as a result of the wasteful over-consumption of plastic. Considering plastic as a source of instability, the project then deconstructs and integrate this material into spatial elements to reveal the possible catastrophe and how the market could be dwelled in and by preaching instability. *Published at Virtual Design Fesival (VDF) by Dezeen, *Presented at Vibi Buzz Webinar: Revealing Environmental Layers in response to Contextual Phenomena

A-TELIEX Upcyling Textile Workshop & Production Tutors: Dr. Ir. Hendrajaya Isnaeni, M.Sc. Ir. A. Sadili Somaatmadja, M.T. Ir. Endy Subijono, IAI. Nur Hadianto, S.Ars, IAI.

This project begins by taking a look at the existing condition of Jl. Pintu Air Raya, Sawah Besar where it has many textiles products that are sold around the area, such as fashion store, tailor, and curtain shop. Nevertheless, this utilization of textile has a potential to produce more waste and will bring more harm to the environment. In response to this issue, this project aims to design an upcycling textile workshop and production that is located in “kampung workshop” area at district 3 where it is referred to Pasar Baru’s newest masterplan. This workshop also aims to educate people and produce more valuable textile products from textile waste such as fabric swatches, excess yardage, end of roll fabric, yarns, zippers, buttons, and will then be sorted based on its functional value whether it is usable or non-usable. If it is usable, it will then be sorted based on its materials and colour for the upcoming textile production. If it is not usable, it will be shredded. The education of textile upcycling is supported with classroom for workshop, gallery, and textile library. Reviewer: Moehamad Deni Desvianto, IAI, AA.

PATCHI-KU Patching the Void Tutors: Ir. Evawani Ellisa, M.Eng., Ph.D. Dr. Ir. Hendrajaya Isnaeni, M.Sc. Hanifa Fijriah, S.Ars., M.Ars.

This project aims to respond the issue of urban shrinkage in Mojiko, Japan where it leads to population and density decreasing and majorly composed by aging society. The decreasing in density left the space to be unoccupied and abandoned where it shapes the city to be more empty. The design affords participation engagement from all generations and create a connection between voids to activate the city through art and craft workshops and zen garden. *Exhibited at AFAIR UI 2020, National Gallery of Indonesia, 2020 (Maquette)

SLOWTICE Slow Down to Notice Tutors: Mikhael Johannes, S.Ars., M.Ars. Hanifa Fijriah, S.Ars., M.Ars.

An urban intervention located under Lebak Bulus MRT Station. It is mainly focused on the sets of body gesture and the duration of the walkers while crossing the street where there are many ways of crossing the street with many actors included. The walkers’ speed when crossing the street is affected by the fast pace of the vehicles that ride through the lane. The design is to make the riders notice the body gesture of the walkers when crossing or about to cross the street where the gesture plays role as the signage for the riders to slow down the pace. *Exhibited at AFAIR UI 2020, National Gallery of Indonesia, 2020 (2D Diagram) Reviewer: Buki Sosiawan

Masterplan: Reviving Pasar Baru Tutors: Dr. Ir. Hendrajaya Isnaeni, M.Sc. Ir. A. Sadili Somaatmadja, M.T. Ir. Endy Subijono, IAI Nur Hadianto, S.Ars, IAI.

Creating new masterplan for Pasar Baru by taking a look at existing condition where it has high cultural and historical value. The masterplan’s proposal came from the urgency to preserve the value, create a better connectivity in the area where it maximizes the potential for pedestrian, afford public and green space for the area to engage more interaction within user. The proposal also aims to optimize the landuse for commercial on the outer side of the area, limit the car use and allow people to transport using tram instead. *It is a collaborative academic project with the other 40 members of the class creating the newest masterplan of chosen area around Pasar Baru.
