INTRODUCING Graduate placement dancers Joining Ruth for the summer in rehearsals and development of new work ‘Girlfriend’ are Miranda Sheehy and Salma Faraji.

This placement offers these two graduates valuable support and experience, acting as a springboard into their own professional practice.

Miranda Sheehy Graduate of Scottish School of Contemporary Dance Driven by the power of dance and physical theatre to communicate and engage with audiences, Miranda is a captivating performer with the potential to stir with her passion for the art form.

Her experience as a youth worker and arts facilitator has taken her to the US and Ghana and she continues to engage young people across Scotland through her work with smallpetitklein dance company

Salma Faraji Graduate of Bodywork Dance Studios and Reid Kerr Academy of Creative Arts Salma has a magnetic personality.

She loves people and people love her. A quality which adds depth and soul to her performances. Dedicated to personal and professional development in herself and others, Salma is committed to bringing theatre and dance to all. Reaching diverse cultural groups through her community work with Maryhill Integration Network, Barowland Ballet and Scottish Dance Theatre,

About Ruth Mills Ruth Mills is one of Scotland’s leading dancers, choreographers and movement directors with over twenty years professional experience in contemporary dance. She has toured extensively as a dancer both nationally and internationally.

A graduate of London Contemporary Dance School, Ruth is well known for her dedication to the form, precision and artistry of dance. Teaming this expertise with a passion for new music and film, her creations often extend out of the theatre into film and music video. Her work is provocative, intelligent, uncompromising in its professionalism and showcases the best creative talent Scotland has to offer. Ruth has chosen to commit much of her time to sharing her skills with professional, amateur and studying dancers across the UK and beyond. It is in this work that she believes the healing power of dance and movement can emerge. Ruth is dedicated to dance in all its forms and for all people.
