The Eugene Family YMCA is a proposed renovation of the civic stadium. It’s intent is to promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The spatial organization is such that large, double height spaces are group together on the south side and smaller spaces are stacked on the Northern side. There is a central two axis circulation path that connects these programmatic items. The bar of pragram is bent to reduce the stress on the property boundaries. It also provides a facade perpendicular to Amazon Parkway, that allows for signage to draw people in. The formal roof strategy is created to protect program from heat gains on south facing facades.

Product Housing A New American House Shelton Mcmurphy Blvd Eugene, Oregon Arch 683 Fall 2013 Virginia Cartwright/James Tice
Product housing is a live/work family cooperative based on serving the needs of myriad occupants. The design of this housing development is based on a positive feedback loop. The organization of the site is determined by the fluctuation in the individual units and the design of the units is influenced by external factors on the site. The site implies two conflicting grid systems. The layout of the units align to these regulating lines in order to accomodate three different programatic requirements, small medium and large.
