Reinventing of Metro Station Locating in Jinsha Binhe Park Subway system has become an indispensable facility of mordern cities on mainland China. However, the vast amount of structures beneath the ground have brought huge energy comsuption due to lightening, ventilating, and temperature controlling, these have incured occupation of underground space which inevitably influences the natural environment and micro climate of urbans in bad way. What could be done to reduce the negative effacts exherted by these infrustructure is the question tried to be solved in this project. By redesigning the conventional metro station, the project attempts to adopt approaches that can reduce the daily energy usage of maintaining the underground building as well as the conflicts between nature and man made structure. The project put emphasize on the oppinion that we shouldn’t get our own develpment at expense of damage to natural environment, this will come back to harm the future of human. How to balance between short term benefit and long-term one is what should be taken into account by all of us including architects undoubtly.

Site Condition of the Station in Chengdu, China Jinsha Binhe Park Station locates in the south side of the park where the landscape contains slope that can block the noise produced by traffic on the road south to it. The park is popular in the locality, local residents like taking a stroll and doing exercises in it. However, slope increases the load capacity needed to be resisted by the underground structure of the station, and coming construction of the station will occupy a large area of the underground space of the park as well as surface land causing conflits arise.

D: Pyramtids Wells(pyramids) for lightening and ventilation can also enrich the experience of the space.
A: Entrance Roof of the station entrance provides an platform for people to get the whole view of the park.
B: Sunken Courtyard Sunken courtyard offers a site for performance and induces the view of the park into the underground space.
C: Up-side-down pyramid Floating pyramid, like a wedge sticking into the ground, reminds people that we have occupied what belongs to nature.
Typical Section of the Station Ligntening and ventilating wells (pyramids) take place of slope to block the noice of the southern road while introducing light into the underground space and enable exchange of the air between indoor space and outdoor one.
Man Made Hills Pyramid-like roof not only optimaizes the loads on the top slab of the station but also leaves enough space for the roots of the plants, and it can block noise of the road for the park as well.
Plan of Check-in Floor At bottom of the pyramids, particular parts of their wall structure are removed to offer specific sight to passengers walking among them, which producing certain order to guide circulation as well as providing fun of the space.

Reinventing of a Pedestrian Bridge In mordern cities, bridges are usually built to connect two or more saperated spaces whereas are rarely considered to be meaningful spaces themselves. This project make efforts to refind the potential of bridge to be a space that enriches the encounter of residents of its locality.

Zhonghe Bridge in City of Chengdu Zhonghe locates in the Zhonghe town of Gaoxin District in Chengdu. It is the only pedestrain bridge that connects the two side along Fuhe river of the area. One side is a water front park and the other is a residentially dense zone Besides, the bridge has nothing more than a “bridge“ which looks a little boring. There is a great potential enrich the experience of it for local residents since great number of people and non-motor vechicles pass through it everyday.

Three Different Experiences of the Space The three-decker structure can provide different experience to the user of it. Top floor is for people to take a view of the river and have a warm sun shower or enjoy a soft breeze. Middle layer is for normal pedestrian and non-motor vehicle traffic to pass through the bridge qickly. The bottom layer can be used for verious perpose like tiny museum or liburary or places for drink and talk.

Another Journey Hospital always arouses the feeling of painful and unhappy, Actually people would hate to go there as it looks like a prison for those who are weak and abandoned from the normal society. This feeling will of course add more pain to those patients. They stay there with horror. In the project of Another Journey, attempts focus on how to change the terrible feeling of patients into the feeling that they are on a expedition of a new journey in their life there.

Circulation of Public Hall Spiral up path represents climbing. Meanwhile, one doesn't have to turn back for that either direction would lead to the floor of the hall.
Elements of Nature Plants and sunlignt are introduced into the public hall to make the indoor environment more confortable as well as reduce energy consumption.
Arragement of Rooms Two types of unit rooms are arranged along the spiral slop.
Public Hall and Its Supporting Structure I Public hall contains dining area, entertainment area and nurse station. Trees and plants are elaborately placed to soft seperate these areas. Transportation core is placed in the center of the building, ensuring the evacuation distance to be short enough. Supportive structure is made of laminated timbers and forms the decorating out skin of the building. Combining with plants in the interstitial space, it can adjust mirco moisture and temperature surrounding the public hall and rooms.
