Project 0.1 Design X Food

8

Print Typography Photography Infographic

A day before I was given a brief to present information on a personal habit over a period of a week I started a very bland and uninteresting low carbohydrate diet because I have previously been eating copious amounts of high fat, high sugar colourful junk food and needed to cut down to a strict diet plan.

This project explores the nutritional values of the diet and presents it in a contrasting way, it juxtaposes the dull and boring appearance of the food I was eating by presenting the data using colourful vibrant foods, which were almost entirely excluded from my diet. The final solutions were a perfect bound book with an accompanying poster.

Project 0.4 “TWAT” Words in Motion

20

Print Typography Motion Poster Design

A colleague and I had to use a segment of John Cooper Clarke’s poem “TWAT” and create a motion piece using the words. We also had to incorporate the style of artist Bob & Roberta Smith. We chose to approach the project in a much different way and created typographic posters which we would film in a very stylistic manner. We also had to create a small publication on influences and process of creating the motion piece. We created an 80 page publication and hand bound it.

Project 0.5 Past, Present & Future

26 Print Typography Type Design

Everything about One Film. I was set the task of creating a publication based upon one single film, I chose The Terminator (1984) I used the concept of time to create a chronological structure within the book. I also designed a Typeface that would be used throughout the book called “Glitch. The book explores the themes of time travel, robotics, A.I, Crime through out the 20th century, drug addiction and Nightmares. Printed Black Foil on black.

Project 0.6 The Art of Procrastination

28 Print Typography Poster Design

The Art of Procrastination was an exploration in a subject which many people fall victim to, I wanted to see how aware people were of there actions and also how prevalent it is in day to day life. I asked strangers on the street “What are you putting off? and created a small publication and series of posters showcasing this.

Project 0.7 50 Metres

30 Motion Film

I was given the brief to record myself partaking in a new experience, I had to document my journey and reaction. I have never been a strong, fast or confident swimmer so I chose to spend three solid weeks training to get my 50m sprint to as fast a time as possible.
