Football On August 24th, 1981, the R.C.D.S, Varsity and J.V. football teams started their three weeks of pre-season fraining. They were a young feam with great potential. The teams didn't start the season off parficularly well, buf fhey did make a fast improvement. They preceded to shut out Harvey 20-0 and defeated St. Lukes 20-2. Peter Gasparini, team captain, led the team through a tough but spirited season.

If you can think, and not make thoughts your master, you can dream, and not make dreams your aim. If you can meet both triumph and disaster. And treat these two imposters just the same. If you can fill each quickly passing minute. With sixty seconds of distance run. Then, Yours is the world and all thats in it. And, what's more, you'll be a man, my son. STEVEN MITTLEMAN "And though the news was rather sad, well I just had to laugh-while those rocking horse people, newspaper taxis and plasticine porters take me away. Sitting in my nowhere land- watching the wheels playing those mind games. Lay down all thoghts, surrender to the void-everythings the same. Don't need a watch to waste your time. Imagine nothing is real. Something warm, siidden cold. Half of what I say is meaningless like the folks on fhe hill-man you should have seen them. Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind-and tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill. Leave me where I am. I'm only sleeping." John Lennon

What can I say about these four special years. Their end brings joy, but also tears. These are the days I will never forget. Nor the life long friends that I have met. A lot of good times have been spent here at Rye, But not always good, I cannot lie. The relationships I've made I will always cherish. As none of them will ever perish. I hope I've had a chance to give to R.C.D., Almost as much as it has given to me. I'll miss you . . .

"The moment whispers "I can! I remember the first time that whisper came, years and years ago; when I was a kid, when I first took my foot off fhe floor of fhe swimming pool and struck with all four limbs togefher; and if was frue fhat fhe wafer bore me up. It has always been important to remember that feeling. (Leviff in The Winged Horse by Pamela Frankau) 'There ain'f no bears in fhere" (Cache, C ache" Pete Townshend) When I woke up that morning it didn't take me long to realize there were dogs in my nose. I could hear their muffled barks; I could feel their playful vibrafions. (Sieve Marfin)
