01 Environmental Form

location : Kanagawa , Japan | 2022 kind : public toilet group work ( eith a person)

Environmental Form is a series of spaces and environment that enclose. For Negishi Forest Park, which is rich in nature, it would be appropriate to have an architecture that envelops the environment of the park and supports a more conscious feeling of nature. I hope that the wooden structure, which is a natural material, will have a connection to the park and will be a place where people can relax.

The site is located in a corner of Negishi Forest Park in Kanagawa Prefecture. The park was originally a racecourse and a place rich in undulating nature. A majestic park of about 18 hectares and the spot where there are a lot ofcherry blossoms.Bird's-eye view

■Toilet as a place to feel the forest

The conventional toilet is segmented from the surroundings and becomes a space with a single function of excretion. Therefore, I propose a place where you can calm down by paying attention to and conscious of the nature of the forest park as well as its function.

■A space with a good sense of openness

The planar shape composed of wire rods such as pillars and beams and the minimum number of walls is a space that is easy to see, and it also appropriately separates the line of sight and ensures privacy.

■A simple construction

This building shortens the work time during construction by minimizing the excavation of slopes during construction. In addition, I'm trying to improve workability with a simple frame system. Minimize environmental pollution during construction and expect to reduce costs.

■Design of wood

A building built of pure wood would be suitable as a building to be built in a forest park. By combining wood as a wire and wall structure with face materials, we design architecture that makes the best use of the texture and structural beauty of the wooden structure.

This buffer space with the scenery of trees gives people a chance to face nature. Considering the management aspect, it is designed so that it is easy to maintain and manage the connection with the slope. The floor is constructed so that RC slabs can be hooked on the slope.

The roof of Sora Niwa Garden will be removed, and it will be an open waiting space and a resting place in the park. The slope left by the minimum excavation becomes a garden, and it is a space where you can feel the nature more while being aware of the terrain.

This forest park has abundant nature. Nature is so magnificent and beyond the scale of humans that humans can only grasp it as a whole. In fact, there are trees in the park, and the trees gather to form a forest. Originally a racetrack with gentle undulations and plateaus, a large sky with lots of flora and fauna. In this way, the nature here seems to be chaotic at first glance.

This building functions by giving order to limit the nature as a whole and make it easier for people to grasp the elements of nature. It is a building that includes the environment as a whole surrounding external people and living things, aiming for a better excretion space in response to the demand as an internal publictoilet.Loggia of trees,Sky garden and Sunbeams toilet where you can see the threeExistingareas.pillars can be seen from between the pillars. In the empty garden, the blue sky spreads out. There is a window in the direction towards the private room and you can feel the plateau on the slope. From the frame of architecture in order to think about the inner space and the external environment at the same time. One unit leads the gaze to the objects of wood, sky, and soil, and the user experiences nature. The center of gravity of the structure was placed on the outside of the building to make the interior space as light as possible.

Architecture has an order of structure and function. By encapsulating the existence of the environment as a separate entity from architecture, it encapsulates an orderly and disorderly situation.

Guraduation Design 2020 location : Osaka , Japan | 2020 kind : temple single Edifince in the Womb

In Japan, the relationship between people and temples is currently diluted. Buddhism was introduced long ago and settled in the spiritual life of the Japanese while creating a number of new sects. The temple was strongly linked to people's lives and had a social and culturally complex function of gatherings, education, and medical care. In response, the temple's space was also highly open.

However, urban development based on rational ideas has progressed, and the spiritual connection between the temple and the surrounding environment and the person is disappearing. In today's cities, it is necessary to have a temple that encompasses richness as a base of the mind. Therefore, I propose the ideal way of a temple that watches over people.

02

The Positioning of Temples in Japan

The temple is a facility where Buddhist statues are enshrined and Buddhist priests live and practice. In Japan Buddhism was introduced in the 500s and currently there are about 77,000 temples. Over the years, temples are no longer just religious facilities for the Japanese people. It played a role as a base for education, welfare, and culture in the community. Due to the mechanism called "Danka system" that was born in the Edo period, the temple also took on the authority of the administrative agency, and the life of the temple and the local residents became strongly connected.

Shinto has been worshiped since ancient times in Japan. Buddhism was introduced to Japan during the Asuka period and was popularized by Prince Shotoku. And based on Buddhism, we made rules and regulations and built a nation.

This is a picture of an educational facility inside a temple called Terakoya, Many children is taught read-write abacus in Edo period, a temple functioned as an educational facility. Due to such remnants, the temple is still familiar to Japanese people and is visited even if they are not believers. It's more like a building with public functions than a religious facility

Saisho-ji Temple is a temple with war damage and has been rebuilt, but it is a historic temple, and the chief priest of the 20th generation is currently working. There is a gate about 3m high in the building group, a temple in the center of the city district, a ossuary on the 1st floor, and a Buddhist statue on the 2nd floor.

The chief priest lends the main hall to danke and has weekly events such as yoga, haiku, calligraphy, and photography classes, and has connections with local people.

The form of arrangement in temples has been preserved since ancient times. The temple has been built for a long time, has a large site, is close to the mountains, and is full of nature. The environment is not good because it is surrounded by buildings, not in the mountains. We propose a arrangement in temples that composes the precincts while incorporating the surrounding environment and coexists with the surrounding buildings in the city.

Copenhagen has a history of expanding land by reclaiming canals and creating artificial ground. People love nature such as the sun and the sea, but artificial elements such as artificial ground and buildings and natural elements are treated flatly, and the relationship between these two elements is tenuous. Therefore, we propose an architecture in which artificial elements and natural elements coexist and influence each other, and connect the site and the city.

It is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is a port city located in the northeastern part of Chelan Island. There are 407 islands and the Jutland Peninsula, and the land is mostly flat. The city is planned around the canals, making good use of the bay and the network of canals. Today, the main buildings still stand from those constructed in the 17th century.

History of Copenhagen

Copenhagen has created artificial ground and urban development has been centered on canals. Going back in history, when expanding the land, a city wall was built on the sea, and a town was built inside it. Even now, new residential and commercial areas are being developed to expand the land. The area along the canal in the past was an industrial zone and the environment was not good, but in recent years urban planning has led to the urban development centered on the canal, and public facilities and cultural facilities are gathered.

The people of Copenhagen live along the canals, loving the sun, feeling the wind and surrounded by greenery. However, the relationship between man-made and natural objects is tenuous and divergent. As a new urban landscape, we propose architecture in which man-made objects and natural objects coexist and influence each other.

It was thought that water and frames would intervene to divide the vast land into several zones and cross them.

04 Will and Space

There are two problems which a shelter has.

First, people in shelter have psychological problems such as anxiety for disaster and relationships with others. When there are many people living in a shelter, you may want to be alone or talk to someone, or share information. So it is important to be able to select disatance with others by own will, like moving closer or moving away.

Second, there is phsical ploblems. It is necessary for the minimum comfort required like as soft floor and sanitary in a long period of evacuation.

My architectural thinking is based on the traditional architecture of Japan. They represent the culture of Japan people that has been passed down since time immemorial, and It is a climatic element, reflecting the thought and view of nature of the ancient theocratic religions

This view of nature is well expressed in the construction of architecture. Architecture is made for people, has specific uses, is composed of rational structures, and has However Japan architecture takes advantage of the surrounding landscape and is structured to connect the interior Elements that do not have order such as nature and the order of architecture coexist well I was impressed with this space.
