Occupy:Frankfurt invites Josef Ackermann to take part in a panel discussion Occupy:Frankfurt is part of a global movement to curb the power of the financial markets and banks. Having taken its queue from the protests on New York’s Wall Street, the banking city of Frankfurt has also become a center for peaceful demonstrations. On Tuesday Josef Ackermann, ceo of the Deutsche Bank, said to members of Occupy:Hamburg that he would welcome the opportunity to take part in a discussion. Occupy:Frankfurt accepts Mr. Ackermann’s offer and in the next few days will issue an invitation to him as well as to other leading representatives of the German financial and economic world to participate in a panel discussion.

Occupy:Frankfurt invites Josef Ackermann to take part in a panel discussion Occupy:Frankfurt is part of a global movement to curb the power of the financial markets and banks. Having taken its queue from the protests on New York’s Wall Street, the banking city of Frankfurt has also become a center for peaceful demonstrations. On Tuesday there was a brief verbal confrontation between members of Occupy:Hamburg and the chief executive of the Deutsche Bank, Josef Ackermann, at a general meeting of the Hamburg businessmen’s club for ethical conduct (»Versammlung eines ehrbaren Kaufmanns zu Hamburg«) that was sponsored by the local chamber of commerce. On this occasion Mr. Ackermann said he would welcome the opportunity to take part in a discussion.

Under the title »The responsibility of the banks in the economic and public debt crisis« the movement intends to critically question both current business ethics and existing power structures.
