When I was a child, I loved outdoor activities, playing and exploring the insects, plants and animals. These two artworks are inspired from my childhood memories. The plants and animals that caught my attention has been my subject matter; Bunga Raya (Hibiscus) known as our national flower (5 petals which portrays 5 National Principles) and Harimau (Tiger) symbolizes bravery and strength to Malaysians. It is to reflect my hope that our country will preserve our natural resources. Most importantly is the Malayan Tiger, our national symbol whose habitat continues to be threatened by development. It is believed that the tiger population in the wild currently stands at less than 300, the important symbolic animal becoming close to extinction.
