Native American Story Time and Crafts at Bayside Historical Society

The Native American Story Time and craft event at Bayside Historical society was overall really fun! We helped set up materials for the kids to create their own necklaces and guided them throughout the process. According to the Native American tradition, each necklace has its own unique story and each colored bean symbolized different ideas. Throughout the necklace making process, every child braided his own unique necklace that held different meanings. If you were to ask me if I would come back again, I would without a doubt say “yes!” because I really enjoy spending time with children and helping them. I also love hanging out with my friends while giving back to my community. I highly encourage those who did not go today to go next time because if you don’t, then you are missing out! -Jonathan Yu, Member
