CoExist Our project is called CoExist and focuses on unifying relationship of 3 different materials – cold spray, polymer and concrete. The overall facade form has movement throughout giving it volume curvilinear characteristics to the surface. This allows for the light to alter as you move through the spaces. The coloration enhances the peaks and valleys and the blue translucent polymer resembles aspects of icicles giving the facade the spiky character. The color gets lighter around the windows, where the components also become smaller to allow for better views. The movement and curvature of the facade translates into the internal spaces. Our project has a strong relationship between external and internal where the two blend together intertwining materials to create logic of different architectural types. The polymer from the facade is creeping onto the ceilings of internal spaces, creating a sense of continuity of the exterior so people can experience the facade up close. The slabs and columns curve to create transitional spaces.
