Julia says "we made almost £1,800 for the National Garden Scheme and we greatly appreciate your local support.

"We had 226 of you in our garden over the weekend and it was amazing to see and chat to you. And, even better to see some of our regulars arrive with new visitors on BOTH days! "It's been an exhausting but utterly brilliant and rewarding weekend. Hope to see you in August!

"Many many thanks, Julia, Christine (& Sasha) and all of our fantastic catering volunteers! xxx"

If you didn't get chance to call in or simply want to visit again they are holding a second event on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August from 10:30am to 5pm.

Mountains of the Moon

Mountains of the Moon is a family friendly musical created by Martin Coslett (from Chesterfield) and his co-writer Thomas Forbes Briscombe (from Brockham Surrey).

If you like the Lion King, you will love this contemporary story of courage and endeavour told by a group of animals determined to fight the effects of drought.

Can the animals save the river?

An African river is running dry. Monkey, Owl, Bat, Gecko and Camel search for the Honeybird in the Mountains of the Moon, whose sweet singing makes the rain god cry. The tears will replenish the water. But Honeybird is being held captive by Eagle.

The first performance of its World Premier is to be held at the Lee Wood Hotel, during the Buxton Fringe on July 21 to 23 before transferring to Nottingham Playhouse and onwards.

Tickets are available from Buxton Opera House or ticketsource.co.uk/ ashgateheritagearts. Call 01298 72050 or e: admin@boh.org.uk (£10 adults/ £8 children).
