Saad Alghamdi

Hi, my name is Saad. I am a PhD Candidate at Illinois Institute of Technology IIT in the Philosophy of Architecture program, and I have completed my master’s degree in Architecture with Emphasis in Interior Architecture at the School of Art Institute of Chicago. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Architecture from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. From 2006-2010, I was a project manager for the Arriyadh Development Authority, an agency responsible for the planning and development of architectural, urban, environmental, social, cultural and heritage aspects of Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh and its region. The ADA has won thirteen international awards, including five Aga Khan Awards for Architecture. I'm interested in using architecture to affect materiality, construction and environmental performance, while engaging economic, social cultural and psychological forms.
