Harrington Square, Cape Town
PROJECT DESCRIPTION The brief is inspired by the East City Precinct & Harrington Square in particular. The precinct was previously left unplanned & under-developed with a poor sense of place & legibility, experiencing a type of urban isolation from the Inner City. This has had a considerable degree of influence on the programmatic scheme of the urban fabric. The project will be adjacent to Harrington Square, just behind the famous Charly’s Bakery. As a result of the Precinct’s urban narrative, Harrington Square is surrounded by a mixed or ‘mediated’ scale of economy & activity
