Taste of Charlotte: (October 1-3, 2021)

Taste of Charlotte is a 3-day festival from October 1-3, 2021, featuring over 100 samples from area restaurants along with Live Music and Entertainment, Interactive Children’s Activities, Cooking Demos, Street Performances, Shopping and a large variety of local, regional and national partners interacting with festival goers, providing information, and more. Tryon International Film Festival: (October 8-10, 2021)

The 7th annual Tryon International Film Festival is one of the few film festivals in the world that employs the entire town. Six screening venues operate seamlessly during the entire three-day event as retail shops, restaurants and bars come alive with activity as filmmakers and fans walk the streets and enjoy parties, street entertainment and art. Cary Diwali: (October 9, 2021)

HumSub presents “Vihaan – New Beginnings”, an in-person celebration of Cary Diwali 2021 on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Vihaan is Sanskrit for “Dawn” and symbolizes the beginning of a postpandemic world. Celebrate India’s rich culture and heritage. This year, Cary Diwali will be celebrated in a scaled-down version showcasing performances by talented artists from the community in the afternoon, followed by a primetime performance concert by local talent. MumFest: New Bern, NC (October 9-10, 2021)

South Carolina State Fair: Columbia, SC (October 13-24, 2021)

Every October, people of all ages descend upon Columbia to attend the South Carolina State Fair. The wide variety of exhibits, thrilling rides, and unique food – such as chocolate-covered bacon, doughnut burgers, and even fried coke – draws visitors from near and far! The North Carolina State Fair returns to the fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC from October 14-24, 2021. The fair features many attractions, competitions, fair food and rides for the whole family. Global Mela: Atlanta, GA (October 16-17, 2021)

The 20th annual Global Mela will be held at Global Mall in Atlanta on the weekend of October 16-17, 2021. There will be free parking and entry. Festivities include global bazaar, clothing and jewelry, raffle tickets, music and dance and food vendors. The Charlotte race is an open competition to anyone 15 years of age or older. The Asian Music and Dance Fest is a competitive showcase of Asian talents, open to Asian Americans of all ages. It encompasses all categories of the performing arts: traditional and contemporary vocal and instrumental music performances plus folk and modern dance. Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit: Charlotte, NC (Through October 31, 2021)

Immersive Van Gogh was created by the world-renowned master of digital art, Italy’s Massimiliano Siccardi, who for 30 years has been pioneering immersive exhibitions in Europe. His magnificent installations have been seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris. With the help of 60,600 frames of video, 90,000,000 pixels, and 500,000+ cubic feet of projections, this captivating digital art exhibit merges stateof-the-art technology, theatrical storytelling, and world-class animation. Carolina Renaissance Festival: Huntersville, NC (Through November 21, 2021)

History comes alive with non-stop, day long entertainment, arts and crafts, games and rides, jousting knights on horseback, feasting and so much more. Introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainment, the event has grown into a 22-acre theme park. The Festival is a 16th century European-style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, marketplace, jousting tournament, and a feast fit for royalty.
