FUNK There are various types of funk, from the bigger band syncopations of Tower of Power to slippery hip-hop grooves. But one thing is certain; cymbals that cut clearly and hats that can deliver on every pedal ‘chick’ or stick stroke with crisp, cutting precision are what it takes to make the groove get heard. HHX with ‘Tone Projection’ is about as funky as cymbals can get. For brighter, shimmering sounds, mix in some AAX. For vintage sounds try HH for dark tones, AA for bright energy.
